What does China gain from friendship with Pakistan?

.
The Karakoram Highway (KKH) (Urdu: شاہراہ قراقرم; Chinese: 喀喇昆仑公路) is the highest paved international road in the world.[1][2] It connects China and Pakistan across the Karakoram mountain range, through the Khunjerab Pass, at an altitude of 4,693 m/15,397 ft as confirmed by both SRTM and multiple GPS readings.[3] It connects China's Xinjiang region with Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan and also serves as a popular tourist attraction. Due to its high elevation and the difficult conditions in which it was constructed, it is also referred to as the "Ninth Wonder of the World."

The Karakoram Highway, also known as the Friendship Highway in China, was built by the governments of Pakistan and China, it was started in 1959 and was completed in 1986 after 20 years of construction. 810 Pakistani and 82 Chinese workers lost their lives,[5] mostly in landslides and falls, while building the highway. The route of the KKH traces one of the many paths of the ancient Silk Road.

China does not need Pakistan to counter India.
China gains from Pakistan what India is missing out and cannot offer either..Remember Pakistan is located at the strategic cross roads and any future of China into asia and middle east has to go through Pakistan. Thirdy China, few years younger than India is light years ahead and while India needs to kiss up the white @$$, we are assured from China what the west is not willing to sell us.

how is the Indian indigenous AWACS going on?? we already inducted ours with the help of Chinese and same goes for multi-role AC. Or how about strategic deep sea ports and development in Kashmir?

Chinese growing influence in middle east market has literally wiped out mega share of Indian opportunities as well their visa quotas. Talk about Pakistan marketing China to the middle east!

China and pak friendship is nt like Indo russian..Russia only needs your money,,when you are turning toward USA and israel for weapons..Nw russia wants to sell their precious aircraft to china like su 35.

watch this video.Advantage of pak to china.

YouTube - Pakistan seeks Chinese intervention in future conflicts

Lol, Buddy..... We all Know how The Russians Helped us when We were not what we are today Unlike Hiding behind wall when the Ally was In Danger, Yes I am talking about the Previous Battles... Both Israel and Russia have helped us In need...

And If China Does not bother your relationships with USA why would Russia Bother Our Relationship with USA which Does not affect any Relationship between us....

Pak-China Relations, Hell India has bigger and Better trade relationships with China even as Being a Hostile Country....

By reading through all the posts, I have understood that China hasen't gained much from Pak friendship. however, Pak has benefitted a lot from this. I guess the Chinese are investing for a long term benefit and they are really good at viewing things on a longer term. We will have to wait and watch to see whether the investment really pays off in near future.

why cant Indian swallow the pill that China is a regional power and is light years ahead!

Tell me In which Field are they Light Years Ahead, We are behind and Just behind the,, not that we are light years Back... I challenge u tell me one such Field....

the same way Indians feels dependent on Russia and more recently puppy love with obama!

Diplomacy is an Art, Its Not so easy as like saying "You attack us we nuke entire world except China:smitten:"
