As to India perpetrating mass riots that kill thousands - you obviously have not read history. Hindu-Muslim riots happened because there were violent Hindus AND violent Muslims.

Faith schools are the best schools in terms of results. Anyway, forcing everybody to go to school together is what they did in the US a few decades ago. It was a total failure.

you have to choose between academic excellence and social cohesion then... why is it alright to have anglican and catholic schools but not islamic or jewish schools? these schools are always under suspicion of doing something wrong.
I thought grammar schools are best, I dont know much about the school system though. If you grow up surrounded by only people of same faith, does it affect your ability as a grownup to live in a multifaith environment?

It can. But the schools are not the issue. It's the attitudes of parents.

i am not suggesting people should be forced to go to same school together, of course parents have right to choose. Just that schools should not be able to discriminate based on religion. I should be able to go to a catholic school even if I am not catholic. If a business discriminates against me due to my religion it will face penalty.. why should schools be allowed to to kids the same thing(who by the way have little or no religious conviction as such, so children are discriminated because of their parent's religion).
