I myself being an urdu speaking Pakistani, 1 million percent disagree with this notion of urdu speaking or mohajir politics. It is fake, artificial and unnatural. Bear in mind that most urdu speaking so called mohajirs actually live in punjab, not in karachi. Yes, you heard me, during the migration, vast majority of Pakistanis migrating from india actually settled in punjab, not in karachi and they have been prospering in punjab. Their entire generations have now been born and raised in punjab and have become a part of the roots of punjab. So to say that these goons and jokers from mqm are somehow representatives of urdu speaking and/or mohajir Pakistanis is misguided and ludicrous at best.

I don't get it, why does everyone wants to lecture Urdu speakers on who to vote for? Why doesn't anyone lecture Pushtuns not to vote for ANP or IK as they are both Pushtuns? Why doesn't anyone tell Punjabis not to vote for PML-N or PML- Q? Why doesn't anyone tell Sindhis not to vote for PPP ? Why doesn't anyone tell Balochs to not vote for Baloch nationalist parties?

Why is this hypocritical stance only reserved for Urdu speakers? BTW, what @Malik Abdullah has said is correct, Urdu speakers or Mohajirs or whatever you wanna call them only vote for MQM to keep other racist scum out like ANP and PPP. I know many many Urdu speakers, have relatives in MQM too including a former senator. A.H was only infallible to radical Altafists, the vast majority of them see the racist behaviour of ANP and PPP in Karachi and see they have no choice but to vote for MQM. PTI has failed as IK literally just came to get votes then buggered off back outside Sindh. When did he last visit Sindh btw?

I had really wished that PSP would be the new hope, but Mustafa Kamal being just as big a ego maniac as Altaf, that hope is down the drain too. For now, there is a lot of confusion and most of the community is just waiting for the tussle between MQM-P and MQM-A to come to an end to see who emerges as a winner.

Musharaf is going to lead them. Which is another possible blunder establishment is going to make in long run.
PML N if remains with NS and Co is now unacceptable to Army. Probable plan is to get PTI more seats from Punjab and KPK plus support from Musharraf lead MQM from Karachi to counter ANP, PMAP, PPP, JUI F and PML N in NA.
All the old thugs in MQM will be dry cleaned and we will be back to square one. Musharaf will revive the gun slinging culure back in MQM.

Pakisitani politics are based on personalities and not based on political ideology. This is main issue that needs to be resolve, political parties need to a political institute and should not be based on race, color, language.

In last four elections, Pashtuns have voted for PPP (Sindhis), MMA (religious), ANP (Pashtun nationalist secular), and PTI (Punjab based party of new hope)...so **** OFF for trying to claim that Pashtuns vote on ethnic lines. They don't.

Punjabis have voted PPP (Sindhis) to power MULTIPLE TIMES to power, and dont vote on ethnic lines. Pml(n) isn't an ethnically defined party like MQM as well.

So please, don't try to push this ethnic voting lie just to justify Urdu speaking community's own shortcomings.

Voting for your own self interest is ok, but voting for the openly treacherous party just because they share your ethnicity is nothing but cheap.

Yes I cannot speak on behalf of every Urdu speaker but all those who I met in Saudi majority of them are against MQM and those who support this party dont consider Atlaf as an angel but a necessary evil against PPP and ANP.

You opened a thread about Mohajirs. Im guessing you are a mohajir and concerned about mohajirs. You have indeed done a good job by opening a thread to show your concerns about Mohajir community in karachi.

I hope you realise that apart from Mohajirs here is a number of other lot(ethnicity wise) living in Pakistan that needs attention too.
1. Baloch
2. Hazaras
3. Burusho (Gilgit Baltistan region)
4. Chitralis and FATA region
and probably more that i cant recall.

It would have been splendid had you opened up a thread for all Pakistanis, showing your concern for all Pakistani ethnic groups instead of just one.

Well mqm will still be at top but you will see pti get 35-45% of votes from urdu speaking areas if we try hard we can sway voters in our direction but for that they need to work hard
Ji could get votes from some folks but i dont see aswj and mwm getting more than 1000-2000 votes even on a national seat they are just a pressure group

That's not the case.
Anp got votes from kpk but they are not the only option for pathans. Kpk people also vote pmln, JI , JUI. pti in heavy numbers.

Same is true in Punjab, where pti and pmln are neck to neck. Punjab voted for a sindhi PPP for ages and ages.

Same situation in Baluchistan, where a punajbi dominated pmln is the largest party.

But thats not the case for mohajirs, for whom AH is the god and mqm is only ones whom they voted again and again. And now this party is cornered politically.
