'Western countries pushed Pakistan into debt trap': Chinese envoy defends CPEC investment

LOL who the fvck is America that is begging for CPEC details? They are in no shape or form related to this project.

The CPEC details are a concern of China and Pakistan. Pakistan is perfectly happy with the project and the terms and conditions. Whatever America thinks or believes about CPEC is totally irrelevant.

what makes you think the CIA does not have the CPEC details ?

Why else would Pompeo be pleading for the CPEC details?

This is all sour grapes. The more desperate the US behaves the worse things will get for them. The US needs to get one thing dead straight. Pakistan romance is over.

All doubts will be clear if govt decide to disclose break up of the loan taken.

if the price is right someone will sell CPEC details just like they sold OBL's wherebouts
Pompeo didn't beg. he told you IMF loans cannot be used to pay chinese loans

We know that you along with your illegitimate daddy America beg Pakistan to abandon CPEC.

Funny, a Pakistani claiming that America is India's daddy given that Pakistan was once America's daddy too. Now it's China's turn. Who's next?

Sour grapes buddy. Deal with the new reality and stop acting like a loser.
That's not how it works. Defaulting on loan obligations is a serious matter for both the lender and the borrower. The State of Mississippi, blessed with some of the most fertile soil on Earth, unilaterally decided to default on its bonds nearly two hundred years ago. While that did damage some European banks Mississippi itself has never really recovered - lack of capital investment dried up economic development even before the American Civil War: once-prosperous trading towns like Eastport were abandoned. And that's just one example.

They haven't recovered to this day.

Our leaders are beggars, when USA closed the tap they ran to the Chinese. They never look after Pakistani people but their own pockets. The Chinese are going to be filling up the pockets of Pakistani Generals, Politicians and Bureaucrats while literally owing Pakistan in every sense of the word.

I'm not totally against CPEC but the secrecy around some of the project's financial handling definitely raises suspicion, while its great that Pakistan will be getting a lot of infrastructure but what is the point if we can't pay for it? What happens 50 years after CPEC projects are built? Pakistan will just become a road to Western China, the only jobs Pakistanis will be doing will be selling kebabs to Chinese labours in Pakistan.

If that was true then Pakistan's leaders could be bribed to make peace. The U.S. tried and failed to do that many times.

Erm the aid was to make Pakistan tow along the lines of American foreign policy not to bring peace. I'm sorry mate I think you're deluded if you think US gives aid to bring peace. Aid isn't given out of good heart, there is profit to be made in other ways.
