The best part... is that they claim China will "collapse" due to the Credit Crunch.

It was written in 2008, and their prediction hasn't come true. But then again, they predict the collapse of China every few years and it never comes true either.

an attack on india would be an "indian doom scenario" not a china doom one. it'll be more like "chinese government gains immense popularity boost, liberates south tibet, forces india to sign humiliating treaty and pay tribute in crude oil and gold" scenario.

Unfortunately any whiff of conflict between two large countries and the markets will tank. Nevermind China, the world economy would grind to a halt. This is how interconnected we are today.

Disadvantages outweigh the gains economically, but not all decisions should be made based on solely economic rationales.

Hardly stop those idiots from making new predictions does it? It's like a gambling game, only it costs nothing to bet, but if you get the date right, you gain massive credibility with general public.

It's like nostrodomus, he predicted vaguely some BS about the twins falling (ie 9/11) and people are amazed but then they don't look at the all the weird sht he predicted that didn't happen.

Nostradamus was a lot more intelligent than Bharat Varma, Gordon Chang and Ashish Puntambekar.

He always made his predictions so vague... "the lion will defeat the tiger" etc. So he could always claim that it meant something else.

The idiot Gordon Chang made an exact prediction that China would collapse by 2006. When it didn't come true he got egg on the face.

Now anyone is welcome to read "the Fall of the Dragon" article written by the Indian think tank IDR, and see how poor the predictions were.

Bharat Varma on IDR wrote that "China will attack India by 2012".
