Welcome to all a town of Sages/Saints/Sadhus....

For a long time I have been thinking to open a thread about my town but I found this day more meaningful as UN declared a Yoga day n Rishiesh is already a unofficial capital of Yoga & Meditations

BTW its my second Thread in PDF in entire three years so pardon me for any technical glitch while creating this thread................

I always found Rishikesh to be a better place than Haridwar, we used to go for school picnics to nearby lachiwaala. Plus you can do white water rafting and night camping too in Rishikesh

I never liked haridwar yar even you cant take dip in Har ki paidi..... Rishikesh/Dehradun surroundings are far better ......

I had been to rishikesh once many many years back as a kid.
Pristine waters of river ganga and perhaps to cleanest air you get get anywhere.
Its a great place to relax, meditate and maybe have a conversation with oneself.
PS If i'm not mistaken there was a great Dhaba style eatery with name ChotiWala. they even had a funny mascot (A brahmin cook sporting a Choti). Had some amazing food there. is it still there?

Haridwar is very commercialized, and over-crowded. Rishikesh is relatively better, plus there is greenery all around. By the way that Dehradun to Rishikesh road is not advisable to travel by night due to elephant crossings, many cases of people getting killed last year.

There are actually now 2 authentic chotiwaalas. 2 bhai the aapas mein ladai ho gaye to alag alag restaraunts khol liye. And that too side by side. And then there are lots of fake chotiwaalas, especially in Haridwaar.

I had the best halwa puri at that restaraunt when I last went there, I am hungry now
