The World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report 2010 is out today.

Surprise surprise. Muslim majority countries (plus ones with big Muslim minorities) are taking all bottom spots.

The ranking is interesting. For example, Lesotho, a poor African country is ranking 8th best, yet advanced Japan is ranking very low at 94th place. Concerning the Muslim majority countries, the picture is truly bleak. Even progressive Turkey ranks as low as 9th from the bottom!

Lets introspect why!

let me share my experience with WEF..i worked with them on Global conpetitiveness report 2009..all they give u is a long form n u have to get it filled by the company/institute they designate..u r supposed to meet the CEO n that is never possible despite using all contacts..the report depends on the responses..if u meet a sadist or even someone not in a good mood, he ll give u weird answers n if an optimist, they ll come up with unrealistic assumptions..even u can fill the questions left over by them n at times the whole form if u fail to get an appointment....no cross checking!
so i dont believe in what these reports say..jus a good tool to quote the "big name" if ur opinion is in line with their results..

How does 'Muslim Majority' come into the picture? India has a pretty low rank too - 112 is not too flattering when our neighbor to the south is ranked 16. Surely there is more than just a religious correlation in this. Can we discuss those issues?

How do they take these surveys? Do they look at governments? If so, this is retarded. Our government is filled with women.

bad satire!:P
no they dont look at govt. alone..there are lists of companies - a representative list (ranging from media to telecom n some businessmen etc)
in the above case we can expect they would have used more NGOs etc..
BTW what are the determinants in the above survey?

Well the big SHOT gender gap report does not includes the fact there are LESS jobs in Muslim countries

With less Jobs competetion is high for these jobs

Example for 1 job in Pakistan there are 20,000 jobs in US or 10,000 in europe.

So its not correct to say that Muslim countries don't want wealth - but its an economic issue

Once Muslim states will have 100,000 job/month creating economies

These these studies will be RELEVANT

The two holding factors for Muslim States are

a) Trade sanctions
b) Reluctance of research and development
c) High populationa and hoping all mighth will feed the 10 children families

Together these with lack of jobs - creates the environment the countries are in at present

Also most of the rich Muslim states have to sponsor weapons deal with US to help move US economies so alot of money goes back to US for their support and protection
