“We will hunt them down in Kunar and Nooristan,” said Asim Bajwa DG ISPR.

In punjab, pashtuns are called wahabis by bareilwi hazrat. This is pure racism and hatred, (they are quite aware that we are hanafi sunnis). As a sensible muslim and pakistani, you should condemn this hatred and racism.
Yeah and that was you who started it first by saying bidaah blah blah...man just keep one thing in mind...dont poke anyother sects...there is saying "Na tm apne aqeeday ko choro,na doosray ko bura kaho"....it will bring peace...!

@Aeronaut i am not even bothered and disturbed a bit about british suggesting use of nukes on my qaum. But yes, when my countrymen talks about nuking us, then it angers me. But such people should remember that deaths by nukes would be shahadat for us. Shahdat is best death.

Yaar stop this drama, you make it sound like anyone here have red buttong to launch nukes on Afghanistan.

Practice what you preach. On one hand, you preach Pashtun watan parasti, how if they were united would slaughter others, on the other hand you desist watan parasti of other ethnicities. You remind me of Munafiqeen of Madinah, they used to do the same thing
There is difference between hub-ul-watni and watan-parasti. I am muhib-ul-watan and @Irfan Baloch is watan-parast. He would even shoot his own son or brother if ordered by his officers, in the name of country. I would rather shoot my officer, instead of blindly killing my family.

I already told you average punjabi does not even know what is barelwi sharelwi. We know only two things, wahabi and sunni. The difference is minimim between both. We don't call our self barelwis like you call your self deobandi. And stop this non sense of punjabi hatered, we are not like other provinces.

As long as that officer is not a Pathan.. you will kill him.

majority of Pakistanis are Hanafi Muslims. no one calls Pashtons wahabis.
please dont spread rumors.
the problem is with the Taliban fighters who follow the same ideology as AL Qaeda which is roughly summed up as wahabism which basically all ordinary Muslims condemn and disassociate with.

exactly....!

Dont vent your frustration on me, advise your (and my) countrymen not to talk nuke shyt on pashtuns.
I agree that the loose talk of nuking a region is terrible nay horrible-ist of maximum level.

But I do sense the stink of racist view in your post, when you talk about "Pashtuns" as the sole target of anti-terror fight.

Please avoid it if you can. it won't help Pakistan and it definitely will not help pashtun who have already suffered so much.

Thank you

You tactics are clear, you are not the first one to use it. Nuking Afghanis=pashtuns. I don't care about Afghanis because they are enemy country and nukes are for enemies.

We call ourselves ahle-sunnat or sunni or simply muslim. Deobandi is internet or bookish term. But hanafis like us and others use word bareilwi for your sect, you people are not recognized as hanafi sunnis by muslim world, for some particular reasons. As it is not a religous forum, so i would stop here.

Oh bhai jaan.

jaanay do yaar. Why this loose talk about one of the most terrible weapon to be used against mankind.

Please! few notches down on the jingoism will do a lot of good here.

Express News screengrab of DG ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa.

ISLAMABAD: In an exclusive briefing to Express News on the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Asim Bajwa said that Miramshah is now completely clear of militants, and forces are now moving towards Boya and Degan.

The military spokesperson also appealed to Afghanistan to take action against or hand over to militants who are seeking refuge in Kunar and Nooristan, saying they would “hunt them down wherever they go.”

Explaining the progress of the operation using a 3D model in the Express News studio, Bajwa said that Miramshah, including surrounding villages, Maachis and Darapakhel, were the first to be cleared after announcing the operation on June 15.

The clearance began after vacating residents from the area on June 29, he said adding that while the area is now completely clear of militants, work on defusing and detonating IEDs and explosives discovered during the ground operation is under way.

“The forces are now moving towards Boya and Degan,” he said.

The DG ISPR further said that a ground operation in Mirali started yesterday, whereas air strikes were taking place from before. Regarding the ground operation, he said six militants had been killed last night. However, the army is facing resistance from the militants in this area.

Answering a question in regard to the difference in physical conditions of Mirali in comparison to Miramshah, Bajwa said that the terrain of the whole area is difficult for the army as it is mountainous and has ravines, while militant hideouts have tunnels and sniper posts.

The DG ISPR also clarified that along with air strikes, ground operation also needs to be conducted to gain back control of areas.

While affirming that security has been reinforced along the border with Afghanistan making it difficult for militants to escape, he said that the army has launched protests and has asked the Afghan government to cooperate with them.

Furthermore, during the briefing, he appealed to Afghanistan to take action against or hand over to militants who fled the border during and before the operation and are seeking refuge in Kunar and Nooristan to the Pakistan Army.

“We will hunt them down wherever they go,” said DG ISPR.

He added that the terrorists were spread in the whole country; however, the army is eliminating them from their epicenter and are destroying their main communication centre. He added that the provincial governments and interior ministry have to work with them as well.

Bajwa said that there has been police mobilistaion in cities according to an integrated security mechanism made in which forces will assist the civil government. He further said that intelligence operations are under way and militants have been arrested. However, he refused to disclose an exact number.

“I appeal to the country not to lower their guard, we must remain alert,” he said. “Call 1135 to report any suspicious activity and help us and the government,” he appealed to the nation.
