nope Russian got own weapons manufacturing industries..... we can't produce in their range... may be we will took 2 decades......

what i mean is Russian always with us during the bad times.... they get readied to confront US during 1971 war..... we can't trust americans like that....

maybe in some industries like aerospace it can take 1 to 1.5 decades.
but in every other field like electronics, sams, missiles tanks. we will at par or better than them in nxt 5 yrs.

India's attempt to build a peaceful peripheral territory by undertaking jointly collaborated infrastructure and development project with china in South and South East Asia alongwith boosting relationship with the US in various sectors including defense and aerospace is a real challenge without being tagged as a swing state.Its upto us how we play the game and take most of the benefit out of it.

i never said we are better than russia. but i am saying in 5 yrs maxx we will be in many sectors of defence.

in avionics sector india is doing great and nxt gen avionics of halbit are out soon. it is owned 75% by india.

India should not loose the opportunity as far as learning from them

Unlike you we have the option of getting any engine from EU, France, US and Russia.

And radars from Selex, Israel, RACR- from US and any from Russia or RBE from France..

So it doesnt matter much.
