Yes, you are right. The detail you want would have been un-understandable by the the people at that time, it was for us to confirm it. The Quran is not limited by time and space as said. It's for all humans till the end. Beside Meiosis and mitosis theories may change with further advanced science but Quran will never change. Every word of it has been confirmed by modern science and there are things yet to be discovered.
Man why don't you try reading it for the sake of knowledge, and then decide? It would be good for you. Just a suggestion. Read it with English translation. Try it.

As I said Vedas main concept was devine as of bible which were incorporated things by humans later on. These changes were just to suit them. All those intellectuals at that time couldn't say about the movement of stars and planets and earth too.
