Water preservation solution for Pakistan.

My roommate in uni was from Lahore and he had habit of taking half an hour showers or leaving the water running when shaving/brushing teeth. Being from Karachi and constant lack of water we were always told how precious water was his habits used to annoy me to no end.

People of Punjab need to change their habits and not be wasteful with the water. Government should start charging people with the water they use, that is one way of curbing wastefulness.

Some student in my university made a system that when fitted in water tank will turn off the water pump as soon as water tank is full. Need to implement such systems in every house

Yeah, it feels so weird to see people getting bath under a tube well flow.. Some people even wash their hands from tube well water I have seen in some youtube videos..

I remember my grandparents and parents always telling me to save water.. always.. and still I have this habit of closing the tap when I brush my teeth. I even close the tap when doing Masah in wudu..

PEMRA should recommend the print media and electronic media to carry out public service announcements for water usability and preservation to constantly remind the public of this grave situation.

Build Rain water reservoirs in northern regions like this one in Nathiagali, the people in North should stop building houses with concrete roofs and go back to houses with tin sheet roofs (lohay kay chadar ki chattain)

Try developing new cities and move people from overburdened over populated cities.

I am starting this thread for alternate water preservation solutions. There are people from all directions and aspects of life and from different regions of the world. Please suggest alternate water preservation solution that you have seen or know about or any innovative ideas all are welcome?

We don't realize the water shortage in our country but we are moving towards it very quickly. We have the largest water system and yet we are facing a threat.

Please use satellite maps and research to come up with ideas.

WAPDA is an excellent professional organziation..it has done all sort of studies but problem is its not funded............

wapda has identified 30+MAF sources of storage that have prelim studies done and 60,000MW raw sites for hydro power
