From the picture, it is clear that that whatever measures have been taken for further signature reduction a flush deck is not one of them. While Mazagon's model tenders called for 48 and 64 VLS cell launch modules for SAMs (in two separate tenders respectively) the media is indicating that the new ships will still carry 32 Barak-8 (and not the ER variant as reported in the past few years). There seems to be no clarity on a new PDMS being deployed and it seems that the mechanical steered VSR will be retained instead of the RAN-40L. All in all, it does not merit being specified as a new class. Disappointing.

Actually the weapon fitment is still not finalized, and it seems its a copy paste of Kolkata design which is available freely in internet. This happened many times in past.

Type-55 will be around 50 per cent heavier and so will be much more heavily armed.

India has no hope of being a peer to China.

055 is 12,500 tons compard to P-15B's 7,300 tons

It is stealthy. Stealth requires magnetic reduction on warships against torpedoes, in fared reduction, radar reduction as well as sound. How stealthy can one make a 7000 ton boat? no very but they can always give it a good try especially when it comes to signature reduction in sound and infared.

OK, will be launched in 2016 and commissioned in 2018. China will produce one a year till they have the numbers they want.

While India commissions a destroyer every 2 years, China commissions two destroyers and a cruiser every year.

Indians should stop trying to compare against China as they are no match for the Chinese. They should stick to comparing with Pakistan

Numbers are one thing, but one requires logistics, and quality. Numbers alone are useless in a fight. Must have mix of both, which is why the Chinese Navy is building so many boats, their quantity isn't as great as they'd like them to be.
Keep in mind when sink 1 boat you kill hundreds of sailors, which is another reason why quality is important..

Keel may or may not have been laid but they are not launched as of yet.
INS VIshakapatnam will be commissioned by 2018.
