Wat if USA packs up from Afghan tom morning

.
Even if US army goes, Al Qaida would still be there, and dont forget they have declared Pakistan as a ( Kafir state ).

We would have to talk some sense into these so called global jihadis.

a name which we only started hearin after 9/11. just tell me how many times have u heard an afghani talkin about al qaeda??? did al qaeda ever claim any bomb blast or anything after 9/11???
there is no al qaeda. ppl fighting foreign invaders are only afghanis who have joined hands with talibans who were there before 9/11.

.
I dont think U.S. is leaving Afghanistan for a long long time.

im not sure but hope they ll leave in another 4 years. NATO and Britishers have started realising that they cant win this war using force. let US send some more troops and see how they fail to bring any change. then will be US turn to realise wat others have realised now.

.
Is AlQaida a reality or a reason for US to attack other countries???

Al Qaida is a reality , which is backed and financed by the USA to a large extent.

SO even if USA goes, they will still be there , and they have declared Pakistan as enemies.

their mind-set will not change even if US goes.

.
Well, if that would happen, I think alot of veterans would come back with empty hands in the U.S.

.
friends the US is going nowhere .
the us did not invade afganistan just to fight a war and leave the area there is a much bigger policy.now everybody knows why the us attacked iraq ?no prizes for guessing that.
but afganistan is the door to central asia, and you all might understand why central asia is so important all the countries surrounding it,china, pakistan, russia, india all of them want a sphere of influence there should the us stay behind in the race,no never.
the central asian republics are traditional russian sphere of influence so the aim of the us is to surround russi and china its two main threats by having a big presence all around them, just look at the us policy towards, poland, ukraineand georgia.
the us wants a strong base in afganistan so that they can get a strong foothold in asia and keep the chinese and russians on their toes.
similarly russia is developing very good defence and partnership with south american countries to make its presence felt surrounding the us.
people thought the cold war is over ,welcome then to the new age cold war part2

thanx

I would say yours has been the smartest answer so far. Americans leaving Pakistan will give very strong incentive to War lords. Once they control Afghanistan, their eyes then will be on Pakistan. After defeating two superpowers their next target will certainly be Pakistan. God forbid if Pakistan falls, India and Iran will be the next in firing line. I am sure Indians and Iranians are aware of this. Pakistan has to decide her on action plan if things happen this way.

Hi there,
That is a very wrong conception of the US's resolve on 'war on terror'. There was a reason to go into Afghanistan. After 9/11 OBL was a 'guest' of the Taliban. They did not hand him over to US and their govt was driven out. There's a lot of work remaining to be done in Afghanistan and US will complete it. You underestimate the resolve of the US this time around. We stood our ground and won the 1st Cold war. Lot of people opposed the Iraq war when they realized the truth behind it, but Afghanistan is another story.

A lot was said about Iraq, how the foreign forces couldn't hold on to that territory. Things are changing for the better now. US started negotiations with some of the militias when we had the upper hand in combat. Though the reasons for going into Iraq were wrong, it was more intense than whats being witnessed in Afghanistan so far.

Afghanistan and areas on its eastern border are going to be the main focus of the incoming administration and US will not leave till the work is done. That doesn't include the use of force alone but other tactics as well.

.
I will be very sad to see the US leave just like that.

I would love to see Pakistan milk the US for the true cost of support in the next 2 years. That should at least write off the external debt; and also open major investment avenues in FATA, Swat and Bajaur.

Afghans too would like to have a handsome compensation for their sufferings.

do you really think that pakistan is milking the us? or is it the other way round .
on one hand it considers pakistan an ally in this war and on the other hand it conducts raids and attacks inside pakistani terrority.

.
This would badly destabilize South east Asia. Two major powers of wold left and terrorists taking control of the region is not that good.If Taliban regain control over Afghan they might try to take over Pakistan and it should not be a big deal for them as they have already won two major powers.

Of course this is not going to be good for India either which is going to be the next target with more Muslim population.

What a bad dream....

Why you keep comparing Iraq with Afghanistan? The two are very different warzones.

Do you honestly believe OBL will ever be found? If you do, I have a bridge to sell you.

The war will end one day. The money will run out for a start, and the cost of it will outweigh the reasons for staying there.

This is inevitable.

Now just how long is a long time?

If you're thinking decades, I think that's crazy. There are going to be bigger menaces for the US by then, not least of which will be China. But the US is in quite a bit of financial trouble. It simply won't make sense to continue the Afghan war. There's more people that believe the whole WoT is fictitious - even the British Foreign Secretary said it today. I quote:

" "The idea of a 'war on terror' gave the impression of a unified, transnational enemy, embodied in the figure of Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda," wrote Miliband, who is currently in India.

"The reality is that the motivations and identities of terrorist groups are disparate."

It'll be as simple as that to change the mindset of the sheeple in the US.

A simple quote from a leader saying OBL is gone, no threat, and the US will withdraw immediately. Already Miliband has said this.
