Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram on Wednesday praised tall fast bowler Mohammad Irfan for bowling a tight line against India in the first T20 international in Bangalore and said he would be difficult bowler to handle for the opposition batsmen.

"I am very impressed with his (Mohammad Irfan) performance. I was amazed to see him bowling around 142 and 144 (kmph) at his height, and he also maintained a good aggressive line. If he keeps on bowling like this and further improves he will prove to be too hot to handle for many of the world`s leading players," Akram said.

Irfan came back to the national side after being dropped in 2010 and returned with the figures of 25 for 1 in his four overs in Bangalore.

Akram said Pakistan displayed maturity and handled the pressure well in Bangalore -- a match they won by five wickets.

He also praised contribution from captain Mohammad Hafeez and another senior player Shoaib Malik, and said the team composition should always be a blend of youth and experience players.

"The way Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik batted it shows how important experienced players are for the Pakistan team. I am all for inducting new blood and younger players but a proper blend of youth and experience needs to be followed instead of just sidelining the seniors," he said.

but he never knew irfan pathan will become a slow medium pacer who will ball even slower than most of the women bowlers ...Ketty perry from aus women team balls faster than him and many of your fast bowlers ...no offense but reality

Thatswhy I said no need to judge the bowler so early. Give them some time. In between he also praised Aamir. But he never knew he was fixer and sold his country for some bucks. No offence but reality

Amir was praised by many for his talent ...if you would have seen Pak vs aus you would have known why they praised him...but nobody knows what will happen in the future ,the only thing they can judge is the talent of the individual and an estimation of his career but nobody knows about the catastrophic events that may hit them in future

Amir is involved in match fixing but that doesnot mean he doesnot have talent ....he got the wicket of sachin in the first match he played against india

that was akhtar as far as i know

even if that was him ,what does that mean? tell me any bowler in the history that hasn't considered a six? may it be wasim akram, macgrath, pollock so does that make them poor bowlers? its like saying a great batsman is one who doesnot get out ever ...by the same logic sachin is not a good batsman coz he got out many many times throughout his career and many of them include part timers or debutants who took his wicket so does that make him a not so good batsman?

its as if i am talking to some 10 year old kid...

Why has he started bowling now ? The other day i noticed his age which is 30 . Now if he is lucky and injury free he might go on to play 3 to 4 years :woot: , thats it .

atleast he is playing the whole series with india and for many indians this is enough to get scared ...forget about the rest of his career ... for a batsman a 7.1 running towards him and delivering at a pace of 144mph with as high bounce as virat kohli got in 3 deliveries he faced against him on a pitch that is not as bouncy as it gets specially compared to the pitches in south africa, australia etc its enough to scare any batsman

.
lol Indians.... plz dont compare Indian bowlers to Pakistani. If any dount ask Indian bastmen...
