Washington’s Extraordinary ‘Welcome’ for China’s President Xi

there are certainly many anti-china voices in the US, but at the end of the day, i doubt this visit will see such hostility. After-all, lecturing, fingering pointing will not advance american interests in any way and in fact may impeded them, this is the chinese president after all not some client state. they'll meet, shake hands, announce some agreement, then everyone walks away smiling.

Afterall we are the lender and buyer to keep US econmy running. Who wants to object that?
and without us you wouldn't export as much crap to keep your workers in work and factories running :D

it's a symbiotic relationship til China becomes a consumer based nation like the U.S :agree:

honestly no one grills a foreign president coming for a visit. that just isn't proper etiquette .

USA/China are performing a Japanese Kabuki play meant for entertaining the masses in both countries. The play needs intrigue and some villainy. From our seats in the audience, the villains are wearing red stars....

Kabuki (歌舞伎) is a classical Japanese dance-drama. Kabuki theatre is known for the stylization of its drama and for the elaborate make-up worn by some of its performers.

The individual kanji, from left to right, mean sing (歌),dance (舞), and skill (伎). Kabuki is therefore sometimes translated as "the art of singing and dancing". These are, however, ateji characters which do not reflect actual etymology. The kanji of 'skill' generally refers to a performer in kabuki theatre. Since the word kabuki is believed to derive from the verb kabuku, meaning "to lean" or "to be out of the ordinary", kabuki can be interpreted as "avant-garde" or "bizarre" theatre. The expression kabukimono (歌舞伎者) referred originally to those who were bizarrely dressed and swaggered on a street.
