Washington’s Human Rights Hypocrisy And The Case of Chen Guangcheng

p.s. China should not be harassing its political opponents. It doesn't look good. What can a blind philosopher Chen do to mighty china? nothing. Then why to post police in his house and put 24 hour camera monitoring.

Because those police were from local governments. The central government, which is kind of equivalent to the Federal govt in the US, does not and cannot oversee every little things done on the local scale. But now I think the central govt is looking into it.

Chen has been doing his activies for years (read about it on TIME). Also he practice law without qualification, which is against the law.

Washington’s Human Rights Hypocrisy And The Case of Chen Guangcheng

By Bill Van Auken

A convincing opinion, the author has clearly pointed out Human right violations being used as a policy.

however there are some things missing

1. The examples given are convincing, but they are known and verifiable. Unless the matter is national security related, the individual can seek constitutional remedy.

2. The author does not mention a single case of Human Rights Violations except the main character in this opinion. Is it hard to find, I think so. Do we have statistics or free press which can verify that the human right violations are NOT present in Cina or they are less?

If the facts can be presented only then can I agree with the Author.
