I have a dog.
I love my dog very much.

If some one were to take away my dog with intent of slitting it's throat & slowly letting it die, after which they will chop it into pieces, make a curry out of those pieces and eat my dog - Well, I will do darnest best to catch hold of that person trying to do this and do the same to him.

Is a dog's life more valuable than humans?
YES - my dogs life infinitely more valuable than the b@stard trying to kill and eat it.

I know its not binary. I'm a Hindu myself and I condemn cattle smuggling fiercely too, and state polices' inability to mitigate it. But a crime is a crime. Be it rape, cattle smuggling or lynching (whatever may be the reason; cattle smuggling, witch hunting, suspicion of thieves or abductors etc). Our Polices have been ineffective in mitigating many deplorable crimes.

But for me, it doesn't appear normal when one condemns inability of preventing cattle smuggling, but fails to condemn much more deplorable incidents of mob justice AKA lynching, which in my view is a cancer to our society.

I can somewhat understand uneducated brainwashed people resorting to mob mentality. But I'll never ever condone similar mentality displayed by the highly educated Indians.

But, of course this is my personal view. Others are welcomed and encouraged to have their own views as well.

You jumped right in, didn't you? Anyway thanks for you input. Fortunately our constitution & law doesn't share the same view! It's only the mob who thinks otherwise. I'm glad you stay in Australia, where mob justice isn't so easily deliverable.

People kill other for far lesser reason then someone killing their pet dog (which IMO was a bad example vis-a-vis religious sentiments). But then those people are, in return, called criminal. And I don't condone criminals.

If one were to wait for the courts to pronounce their judgement, the crime WILL HAPPEN.

For example, if some one were raping a girl, you would thrash the crap out of the guy & if needed do worse.

I'm yet to see Modi invoking 'Hindutva'. All his campaigns and conversations were on the development and rarely he touches such state issues. As an economist, I'm satisfied with Modi's performance on the fiscal front, on overall corruption reduction and on national security. Rest are state issues which require proper policing rather than Modi going over there advising people.

Ohhh is it? When hundreds of Hindus women were raped in Kashmir and over 1000 people including the children of 3 and 4 years of age were killed, Who gave them guts?
