I met Hameed Gul in 2010. I had a 30-page document with a long list of reforms that I thought Pakistan needed. He was extremely pessimistic and had an extremely negative view of the Pakistan army, which surprised me. He said the army won’t allow any reforms in the country.

I can't understand why they wouldn't allow it. Pakistan economy would expand and the army would become more strong, unless the top tier generals are hand picked by the west to control Pakistan.

Generally Army's role is to fight wars or protect border , they don't have skills to handle change
This is generally where good "Policy" makers are important to help bring reforms


Army Training typically includes

> Fitness training​

> Physical bench marks which have to be met​

> Weapons training​

> Tactical training​

> Occasional Rescue mission

They are not fit to create policy , because they have not done any social work (as in normal functional democracy)


Social Work

> Working with local neighborhoods​

> Working with hospitals in community​

> Working with schools and education experts​

> Working in Import/Export traders​

Fatima Jinnah was not allowed in power despite being popular leader and murdered by Army (So many corroborative Statements by people who are not linked to each other about state of her body being evidently murdered and protests in Karachi on that time demanding to show the body of Madir e millat to confirm those rumors of Murder was also denied. Makes a strong case that she was murdered by military junta of the time)

Not even counting lesser politicians. These are all national level leaders.

Off course she was murdered, like Jinah, Liaqat Ali Khan, Bhutto, Benazir.....and same is being planned with IK. but IK is lucky in the sense that he is in public eye 24/7 thanks to social media.
