Bose fought for Japan in the East? To me again no.
Bose fought for Independence of India? For me yes.

When you read about a personality,his education,lectures and ideology, a vague picture of him keeps forming in your mind. His statement was very clear and crystal and never bended before anybody.Even today the Japanese of WW II times takes his name with enormous respect. And who will forget his famous comment about Hitler "Tell His Excellency that I have been in politics all my life and that I do not need advice from any side." Do you think this man will fight for Nazis or for his own nation?

Thats what I said dude. That he did not share Hitler's ideology or goals. He didnt care about those things. I am just saying that he fought IN the Wehrmacht. It doesnt make him a Nazi. He was fighting the BRITISH. And therefore accepted Hitler's help if he would arm him. You and I are saying the same thing actually.

Actually when people give all the credit to Gandhi and do not pay so much attention on the extremists of those times it hurts a lot. Afteral those who chose the path of extremism were formally believer of "Ahimsa" only. But for several reasons they left it. Gandhi had a mass appeal but it was not all that gave us freedom.

Even though jinnah didnt give freedom to Pakistan from british rule but he gave Pakistan freedom from Congress rule... if he was alive i am sure Pakistan would have been a better place ...

Japanese not only respect him but also have visited his family members till recently 2years back ... the only reason he didnt get much support from Hitler he was not ready to make India a vessel state of Germany if Hitler won the war... finally he had to give in some men to germany in return of Arms & political support ... & germans created a Indian legion from those men to fight allied forces in France & Italy...

And its a pain that for 65 years the Indian govt. has done everything to make us believe that he died in 1945. Absolute no respect from any govt what so ever. This is what we do with our men who fought for us,made no compromise,did not make affairs with the lady viceroys etc.

They do give him credit, but not as much as he deserves. He should have lived. If he hadnt disappeared like he did, he'd have far more credibility today. That was a sad episode.

BTW I myself am not believer in Ahimsa. Nor am I a Gandhian. I dont believe in his politics. I would prefer smashing anyone that harms India But then again I appreciate the leadership of Gandhi. I mean this was a guy, whatever be his sexual preference or personal opinion about anything, still got people to put their lives on the line for freedom. In effect doing what Bose would have probably done, but only that in Bose's case we'd have got to kill a little more of those red coats

had he not disappeared our congress govt wud have made him a war prisoner n handed him to britishers

moreover there has been deliberate attempt by congress to not bring in limelight any of the non-congress freedom fighters...... ppl like chandrashekhar azad, bhagat singh, subhash chandra bose who really laid down their lives dont get due credit

I dont about this man. In school I remember reading chapters about Bhagat Singh and Bose. Separate chapters where they were considered heroes! But certainly not Bose's role in the Indian Legion, certainly a bit of distorted history there. But this was almost 15 years or more back. Not sure how history is in schools today.

I disagree. You completely ignore the World War 2 and its effects on the British Empire. The British were devastated in World War 2. It exposed their military weaknesses, financial weaknesses and there was no way that they could keep both countries of 300 million or more people subjugated any longer.

Gandhi and Jinnah, well I dont know about what Jinnah did, but atleast Gandhi, moved the masses. The 300 million people were completely behind Gandhi (for the most part atleast). If they had killed Gandhi or Jinnah, the British would have had hell to pay. So it wouldnt have been a wise decision. BTW how are the British controlling us through their "ideas" TODAY ? This would have worked only if they had retained their superpower status. But WW2 completely destroyed their status as a superpower.

Indeed WWII had an effect on British empire however the plan to free its colonies was planned way before.
Secondly, Ghandi was not so popular during late 1800s and would have easly been kidnapped and jailed or executed by the brits and same applies for jinnah.
