Live reports are claiming the newly formed presidential compound in Aden (Which was declared Yemeni capital following Houthi takeover in Sanaa) has been hit by air strikes. Mostly likely army airstrikes, or Iranian pilots. Unclear. Damage or casualties haven't been reported. However there is anti aircraft fire being reported in area as well.

This signals either assassination attempt or symbolic move to destroy any arrangement of pro-Hadi elements in declaring Aden as capital and regulating society in Yemen.

Least unlikely is this is initial phase of Houthi takeover of Aden since they consider it to be strategic city and don't want any regional nations to prepare counter offensive and want to act before that happens.

That's what happens when you form a state within a state and change the capital as you please. Hadi doesn't know his limits yet. He think by having some support from Gulfis, he can go on like this forever.

Any updates on situation? All I know is recently one tribe pledged support to Hadi. Armed support that is and they regained control of airport.

Not following much, Yemen should save itself or it will go down more than this. Hadi should be kicked in the arse though, this guy is taking Yemen closer to a civil war. He has basically very low popularity in Yemen, thanks to Gulfi Arabs who transferred their embassies to Aden, he feels that he is a legitimate leader. His days are short though I believe.

I do not expect civil war. I believe status quo will remain. Houthis will remain in control of Sanaa and Hadi government will remain in control of Aden. Country will be split into two. I have not seen any indications that either side is preparing offensive either Houthi offensive on Aden or other way around against north.

Yemen crisis: Air raid on president's Aden compound - BBC News

Warplanes have targeted the compound used by Yemen's President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi in the southern port city of Aden, officials and witnesses say.

The officials said anti-aircraft guns returned fire and forced the planes to retreat. Smoke was seen rising from the compound afterwards.

There are conflicting reports about whether the president was inside.

The aircraft are believed to have been flown by forces loyal to the Houthi rebels who control the capital Sanaa.

Earlier, at least five people were killed in intense fighting around Aden's international airport.

Rain some Shahabs on his ***

I can't see how that will change anything. Besides create power vacuum which could be worse. If there is an intention to kill him it wouldn't make sense. Only thing that would is cutting his contacts/relations to Gulf nations. But I'm sure his administration will keep that going.

Or is it because Houthi official was assassinated yesterday? Revenge? Anyways, this cycle of revenge is turning people into fanatics. The worse it gets the more fire added to fuel. As we can see on PDF rhetoric has increased from all sides.

I believe sooner or later the Egyptians will get directly involved.
I expect a coalition between KSA, Egypt and UAE to take on the Houthis.

Not going to happen, why do you suspect that? Saudi Arabia has stated it will not get directly involved. I am aware Aden is apparently a strategic city which everyone wants stake in. So it is important for Houthi's. Houthi's aren't capable of going up against KSA/Egypt. If they do intervene it will probably draw Iran into conflict. Which is something nobody knows how will play out.

Some people exagerate the idea that Yemen poses huge threat to Saudi Arabia. With Houthi complete takeover or civil war, neither scenario will affect KSA. It will only hurt Yemen.

Honestly, Iran does not have much to do with this conflict. It is not the main driver of what is happening in Yemen. Hadi incompetent rule is what is driving this instability and now his refusal to cede power, it will get worse.
Dont buy into the Western media hype.

Hasani claimed there was no problem. No interference of Iran in Yemen.

LOL

I don't care what Western media says, what made you think that? I am aware the crisis is complex, every institution has divisions in Yemen. Some aid Houthi movement others aid Hadi administration. My post was implying that no direct intervention will occur from either nations. You stated you believe there will be intervention from a KSA led coalition but I don't agree, that is the same hype you're speaking out.

I can't see how it will get worse in Yemen, if it does though(God forbid). The direct consquences for Yemen and region are unclear.

I dont believe Yemen crisis will have any regional repercussions, beyond what is already taking place. That place has been a mess for as long as I can remember.
