Now I can clearly see the Indians who follow such stupid rules in the Rig Veda were superior in moral values but undoubtedly lacked the mental capacity to realize that the world we live is not ready to follow such acts, nor will it ever be! On the plus side, I see Kerala was a stronghold till the very end when the British arrived. So proud of the people of Kerala....true warriors in every sense.

Its true, Hindus do the follies of seeing the world through prism of the moral Superiority based on Hindu scripture , unfortunately for the rest of the world such moral values mere weakness to cash on .

Also since King king Ashoka renounced violence after the Kalinga war ,kalinga being last free land to be added largest empire indian has ever seen and took Buddhism.... the spread of pacifist non materialists Buddhism which was only possible because of might of Ashok's empire to back it up in the first place, brought in a culture of nonviolence and lack of will to fight wars .

I doubt Kerala or Tamil Naidu would've been easy to defeat.....These folks would've engaged in a long guerilla war. Plus, they knew much about diplomacy. They were on good terms with the Mauryan Empire. I guess there is more to it than a mere change of heart. If Orissa gave that much blood shed to Ashoka, then going further south, would've meant a blood bath!

YOu are the reason why India will lose more wars. Why do you confine yourself to a framework of rules that serve no purpose but to limit the casualities and prolong war. The Japs broke all war rules when they fought WW2, so did Germany. The country that that initiates war does not think much of rules, especially if it is determined to win. The winner or victor of war will dictate any future rules. Remember that..

Are you of Indian origin ? If not then you need to understand the Indian psyche. It is all about the dominant religions of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddism which exists in India. The principle of reincarnation or rebirth. It makes you place yourself in the position of your opposition since you could possibly be reborn into the family of your opposition. That concept of reincarnation and ahimsa (inner spiritual peace) is what caused the invasion of India by the Mughals and subsequently the Brits. Hopefully they learnt by now to kick azz when necessary and to leave the religion to be worshipped in the temples with the pundits leading and the wars to be fought on the battlefields with the generals leading.
