LOST IDENTITY: War on Terror, Whats going on

Operation Rah e Nijat phase 2 which started on 17 October has entered in to third week. In two weeks forces have cleared many strategic areas from Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan and its foreign affiliates and allies. Pakistan army has cleared Sherwangi, Kunigram, Kot Kai home town of TTP chief Hakeem ullah Mahsud and Qari Hussain , Father of Suicide bombing in Pakistan.
Forces are closing in from 3 sides i.e. from Razmak, Jandola and Wana. Taliban are on the run and forces are forcing them in to designate killing zone for final battle. But what are our dear friends and allies in this War on Terror doing to help us?
Our dear old friend USA is adding fuel into our miseries. At one side it is providing us some gadgetry to fight extremists so that we remain under its influence, on other doing all to make us suffer for its imperial sins.
For example, our forces cleared Swat and Malakand few months ago. We killed and destroyed TTP swat Strongholds and Leadership and forced the remnants to escape.
Similarly our troops broke back bone of TTP Bajor during operation Sherdil. Our friends in Afghanistan also launched Operation Lion Heart in adjoining Afghan Area.
Lion Heart was planned following US and Pakistani intelligence reports that the Taliban bases in Mohmand and Bajaur and in Nuristan and Kunar fed into a network that went on to the Taghab Valley in Kapisa province,

There was a Time when Pakistan advocated that Taliban cannot be destroyed with use of force alone and that due to senseless use of force by US and NATO Taliban movement is changing into Pashtun National struggle. Pakistani government advocated in negotiations with Taliban and through negotiations bringing them near to International community and driving them away from Al Qaida.
At that time American Hawks interpreted as weakness on Part of Pakistan. But now when whole region is in mess US has it self changed its strategy.
According to Asia Time on line, US forces have vacated Nuristan Province.
The United States has withdrawn its troops from its four key bases in Nuristan, on the border with Pakistan, leaving the northeastern province as a safe haven for the Taliban-led insurgency to orchestrate its regional battles.

According to reports US forces withdrew from the province according to understanding reached by them and Panjpiri Taliban group led by Molvi Zia ur Rehman. Taliban gave American troops safe passage and protection during this with drawl. He is the same Zia Ur Rehman who gave offer to Molvi Faqir Muhammad TTP deputy Chief to come for refuge few days ago before American with drawl.

In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, a militant linked to Rehman said that now that they had control of Nuristan, the militants are "marching towards Mohmand and Bajor to help their fellow Taliban fighting against Pakistani troops", referring to two tribal agencies across the border.

There are also reports that Militants who escaped from Operation Rah e Rast in Swat and Malakand and those who escaped from Bajor are regrouping under the patronage of Ziaur Rehman in Nuristan province of Afghanistan. These Regrouped Taliban are Planning to launch offensive during winter when due to snow fall roads will be closed for supply to Pakistani forces.

Its only a promo of what Americans have done in North , now coming to south , It has been reported in media that immediately after Pakistani Forces started Ground offensive against TTP in South Waziristan, American forces abandoned their posts and withdrew . At a time when we started cleaning the Stronghold of Taliban and Al Qaeda which Americans them selves wanted us to clean from Past few years is some thing which no sane mind can understand. It appears they wanted Taliban and Al Qaeda safe route to escape by removing these check posts.
Pakistani Forces have recovered again US, Russian and Indian weapons from South Waziristan. How incompetent Americans are that they cannot control the flow of their weapons and those of its allies to reach terrorists?

There is also a shocking news, the Indian FM Radio channels in Afghan side are propagating worst anti Pakistan propaganda in Pashtu. Readers can search that Afghan and Indian agencies propagated Pakistani Operations against Taliban as Operations against Pashtuns. At a time when efforts should be to win people against extremists Indians under the WATCH FULL EYES OF US are trying to make things hard.
Americans know what is the effect of their drone attacks amongst the people of Pakistan. Any sane friend can understand that every drone attack brings more troubles for government. War on terror as I understand is war of Minds. US is helping us to lose this war of minds by aiding terrorists indirectly.
In south Afghanistan, US forces are negotiating with Taliban commander Mullah Barader which he has rejected. No one has asked the government of USA that what happened to Operation Khanjer? What progress it made? And why they are negotiating with Taliban when they strongly opposed Pakistan to do same?
The only Problem in Afghanistan is US of A. it’s their presence and their conceit attitude towards native Population which has destabilized the whole region. They backed War and Drug lords which brought ordinary Afghan near to extremists, for killing one militant they killed dozen innocents. They forced Pashtuns into extremism. Now when things are getting out of hands they want negotiation. They want to drive Afghans into ethnic civil war. The runoff between Abdullah Abdullah and Hamid Karzai and US backing to Abdullah Abdullah is one step forward to destroy remaining unity in Afghan society.
All things are going as planned. In Iraq Civil War helped removing pressure from American forces because Iraqis started fighting each other. Same is coming to Afghanistan. According to Reports Price of AK 47 has reached $600 in Tajik areas due to rise in demand. Abdullah Abdullah Faction is fully prepared to start new Pashtun genocide. Tajik will kill Pashtun and vice versa and divide and rule policy will again prove to be best for imperials to control.

Despite appreciation from many people, Clinton’s ‘people to people’ diplomacy has been characterised by sharp disagreements and deep distrust which is a potentially worrying sign for officials in Washington hoping to reverse anti-US sentiment in the increasingly fragile nuclear Pakistan.


ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday jacked up pressure on Pakistan to take on Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups beyond South Waziristan for a lasting solution to terrorism.

‘With initial campaign in Swat and now in South Waziristan finished, I think the Pakistani military would have to go on to root out other terrorist groups or else they could come back to threaten Pakistan,’ Ms Clinton said at a town hall-style meeting of Pakistani professional women on the last day of her three-day charm offensive.

The secretary of state had stirred controversy when she said at a meeting with journalists on Thursday that Pakistan lacked seriousness in pursuing Al Qaeda. ‘I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and could not get them if they really wanted to.’

However, Ms Clinton, who for most part of her trip consciously stayed away from saying anything that could undermine the purpose of the trip, did not relent after the statement and in numerous media interviews tried to impress on the Pakistani leadership that Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups were as big a threat to Pakistan as were the local Taliban.

‘Our best information is that Al Qaeda leadership is somewhere in Pakistan. It is in the interest of Pakistan as well as our own interest that we capture or kill Al Qaeda leadership because that will give a very serious blow to terrorists everywhere. Let us work in that direction.

‘I understand priority for Pakistan will be focussing on those that are attacking you. That has to be your priority. But Al Qaeda is in league with those attacking Pakistan.’

Highlighting the nexus between Al Qaeda, Pakistani Taliban and other terror groups, she said: ‘The extremist and terrorist groups are part of syndicate of terror and Al Qaeda is head of that syndicate.’

Ms Clinton placed a lot of emphasis on this issue during her three-hour meeting with Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and ISI Director General Lt-Gen Shuja Pasha on Thursday night.

There are apprehensions in Washington that the Pakistan military is going after only those who threaten its own security while ignoring those who launch attacks in Afghanistan. Denials about the alleged existence of entities like Quetta Shura in Pakistani territory have also displeased UD officials.

As a means for resolving such contentious issues, towards the end of her trip on Friday, Ms Clinton proposed creation of ‘more open relationship between governments and people of America and Pakistan’ and underlined the need for ‘honesty in relationship’ between Washington and Islamabad.

Nuclear fear

The secretary, who left for Abu Dhabi in the evening, during her meetings with government officials discussed her fears about nuclear proliferation given that terrorist groups had been making relentless efforts to acquire fissile material.

She cautioned that there was always a possibility of nuclear material falling into the hands of terrorists. However, she insisted that she had full confidence in the security of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. She urged Pakistan to work with other countries against proliferation.

Pakistan-India relations

Ms Clinton made it clear that her government wouldn’t be playing an active role in helping Pakistan achieve peace with India.

‘It is clearly in India’s and Pakistan’s interest to try to resolve the concerns they have. It is not for us to dictate solutions because that will last a minute, but it is up to us to encourage both sides to get back to the composite dialogue … We love to see good and peaceful relations between the two countries.’

Justifying American reluctance to play a peace broker’s role, she said both the countries had very strong feelings and the US couldn’t impose a solution despite its leading position in the world as the sole super power. However, she promised to help Pakistan in resolving its water dispute with India.

‘Water will be part of the strategic dialogue between Pakistan and the US and we will try to address international issues,’ she said at the town hall meeting.

Blackwater controversy

Ms Clinton compounded the confusion over the presence of the US private security firm Blackwater/Xe Services in Pakistan by saying that some of their personnel might be having diplomatic immunity, but most of them didn’t.

‘I understand the sensitivity of the issue, but I want to be clear why we have any contractors, well because we get dozens and dozens of threats every month directed towards our diplomats and public officials who are here for diplomatic activity. Our diplomats don’t carry arms, but on the other hand if they have to get out they need security.’

She said the US was working with Pakistan to chalk out a mechanism for providing security to diplomats and officials assigned to Pakistan.

The issue of private security contractors echoed at her meeting with lawmakers in parliament, where former information minister Sherry Rehman warned her that if the issue was not resolved, it could compromise the very democracy the US was seeking to support.

Ms Clinton clarified that the security company was not above the law of land and asked Ambassador Patterson to look into the issue and address concerns.

Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan called for an increase in trade and economic ties.

During her meeting with leaders from the NWFP and Fata, the secretary of state underscored American support for humanitarian and livelihood assistance, education, media and communications for people living in areas of conflict.

The secretary of state also visited the Police Line Headquarters to pay tribute to the personnel of Islamabad police who had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. She expressed the resolve to stand with Pakistan in rooting out the menace of terrorism and secure future of the country.

According to a press release issued by the ICT police, she said: ‘It is a war against an enemy who tried to destroy the morale and life of police officers. It is the enemy that threatens the way of life and future of the people of Pakistan. It is a common enemy and common threat and we show solidarity with you.’

She said that US supported Pakistan police through training and increasing capacity and this cooperation would continue.

She laid wreath on the memorial of policemen and met members of their families.

And Pak Amy setup 300 km posts inside Afghanistan to stop any infiltrations from deep with in Afghania zones -

We can take 100-300 drones form US, to patrol these vast areas, and to further stop drug and popy trade.

This is the only solution to the crisis in region -

Every true Pakistani believes, terrorists are the enemies of the country and deserve no quarter. It is also true, no single party or government being in a position to cope with the situation, a joint stand needs to be taken by all political parties to eradicate the menace.

Innocence lost, lives brutally snatched away. Weeping women, stunned men, dead children. It becomes easy to lose count of the terrorist attacks when they happen in rapid-fire succession. It becomes easier still to keep from crying, as the deaths desensitize you time and time again.

But some things become harder.

It becomes harder to call extremists “Islamic” when they insist on killing students at segregated Islamic universities. It becomes harder for men like Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan to watch the families of the victims wail in agony, since their sympathies are only for terror suspects killed by American drones. It becomes harder still to box extremism in the far-flung regions of the country.

I see something in the images of terror’s after-math. Amidst blood-splattered rubble lies a complicated reality: extremism is not just in FATA and the NWFP. It is slowly seeping into the heartland of Pakistan and will continue this trend; it has already reared its ugly head in the capital city of Islamabad, and threatens the urban centers of Lahore and Karachi. The entire country is on its way to a culture of fear and paralysis. Just look at who they have killed. The dead are not enemies of Islam. They are teachers, police officers, aid workers, students, children too young to even understand why someone can hate. The victims are ordinary, hard-working Pakistanis, they lived with allegiance to their country’s flag and wanted a stable life. They are dead, and undoubtedly more will die. But the question is…how many more deaths will it take before Pakistanis fight back and save their nation?
