So Iran seems to have focused on very specific developments like smaller subs etc. which can pose a serious hurdle for the US.

The time frame of a possible Israeli attack on Iran could occur after the Olympics end on August 12th and before the US Presidential Elections on November 7th.

So just as a precautionary measure, US is beefing up its forces in the Persian Gulf.

The AC has lazers that can track missiles, and no the DF-21 is not enough to sink it. It has submarines beside it and air crafts that track it down.

It makes more sense for the Israelis because it will force Obama to go to war alongside them or lose the Jewish vote or in another words the election completely. If he is reelected he can strong arm the Israelis to prevent a war or he might just leave them to fend for themselves (highlight doubtful but at that point he has nothing to lose). If there will be a war it will start in the time frame mentioned.
