War in August? US sends fourth aircraft carrier, dozens of underwater drone

I seriously doubt the latest equipment is for Iran.

USA will just NOT take on Iran for many reasons. If Iran was actually their concern the assets in UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq and Afghanistan together with those in Turkey and support from Israel Air force would have been enough.

This mix is for another recipe.

So they'll be waiting for after the Olympics, I take it.

And if USA doesn't win any gold ... they'll blame it on the stress they hold coz of the Iran situation and then attack Iran for it.

So, predictions are all over the place about the Olympics, so if anything is left after that then the war will happen?

.
now iran.......... and after that.... turkey no, indonesia no , than who?:usflag:

.
what a selfish remark you passed mr.k
, hike in petrol and diesel prices, rise of inflation..more people wouldn't be able to afford 2 time meal etc.,more possible deaths...In this world which has become global village, every country associated with the other countries suffer....:D

P.S. Did yo read what is written below my name............Huhahahahh Huahahha..

.
The time frame of a possible Israeli attack on Iran could occur after the Olympics end on August 12th and before the US Presidential Elections on November 7th.

So just as a precautionary measure, US is beefing up its forces in the Persian Gulf.

. .
There are 10-13 aircraft carrier with the US currently and it can not commit 4 AC carriers for Persian Gulf alone.

Also what's the position of Nukes Iran was assembling?

Before Israel attacks, the US stealth machinery will have to take out Iran SAM sites.

I don't think its in Obama's best interests to launch another war in the Middle East.

The American public are tired from wars in the middle east.

.
... The American public are tired from wars in the middle east.

The general public may be tired, but the people selling arms love wars.
And unfortunately they're the ones whose calls get answered asap.

. . .
after a 30+ year siege, iran is ready to collapse like a pack of card ....RIP......

Iran mini-subs difficult for US Navy to detect: Ex-US Navy Cmdr.

A former US naval commander says the Iranian military has a growing fleet of mini-submarines that is particularly difficult for the US Navy to detect and track.

The Iranian mini-submarines are “a huge problem for us,” MinnPost news website quoted retired Navy Commander Christopher Harmer, who was the director of future operations for the US Navy Fifth Fleet, stationed in Bahrain, from 2008 to 2009, as saying.

“They are a threat to us because they can disperse them throughout the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea, and it’s extremely difficult for us to track them,” he added.

Commander Harmer said that the US Navy is more accustomed to tracking large, Soviet-era nuclear-class submarines - something Iran knows well.

“Looking for small subs in shallow water is much more difficult, because the acoustics are so much more difficult - smaller makes less noise,” he stated.

Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on June 15 that the naval forces of the Islamic Republic will firmly counter any threat and deal with insecurity single-handedly.

Over the past years, Iran has made important breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems.

The country has repeatedly clarified that its military might is merely based on the nation's defense doctrine of deterrence and poses no threat to other countries.

Report: US Wary of Iran's Missile Capability

TEHRAN (FNA)- A new report released by the US media said that the Pentagon is on the alert for Iran's newly-produced missiles as well as the country's submarines and vessels.

In the report released by the Bloomberg on Wednesday, the Pentagon admitted that the "lethality and effectiveness" of Iran's missile systems has improved and Tehran would present a "formidable force" while defending its territory.

According to a June 29 report by the Pentagon, "Iran has boosted the lethality and effectiveness of existing systems by improving accuracy and developing new submunition payloads" that "extend the destructive power over a wider area than a solid warhead".

The report, signed by US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, was presented to the four US congressional defense committees last week to comply with a 2010 directive to provide an annual classified and unclassified assessment of Iran's military power.

It noted that improvements in Iran's missile capability are occurring in parallel with regular ballistic-missile training that "continues throughout the country" and the addition of "new ships and submarines."

Iran is "developing and claims to have deployed short-range ballistic missiles with seekers that enable the missile to identify and maneuver toward ships during flight," the report added.

"This technology also may be capable of striking land-based targets."

Tehran launched an arms development program during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war on Iran to compensate for a US weapons embargo. Since 1992, Iran has produced its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles and fighter planes.

Yet, Iranian officials have always stressed that the country's military and arms programs serve defensive purposes and should not be perceived as a threat to any other country.

The Iranian Army recently test-fired different types of newly-developed missiles and torpedoes and tested a large number of its home-made weapons, tools and equipments, including submarines, military ships, artillery, choppers, aircraft, UAVs and air defense and electronic systems, in a series of massive military drills.

Defense analysts and military observers say that Iran's wargames and its advancements in weapons production have proved as a deterrent factor, specially at a time of heightened threats by the US.

Iranian general: It is very easy to destroy US aircraft carriers

It is very easy to destroy U.S. aircraft carriers, since advanced technology has been used when constructing these aircraft carriers and if little firecracker explodes on board, the system will be destroyed giving rise to problems, the commander of Aerospace Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), General Amir Ali Hajizade, said, the Fars agency reported on Friday.

"Iran has taken photos of these aircraft carriers using the simplest drone. It's very easy to destroy these aircraft carriers," Hajizade said.

He said when 6,000 soldiers pass through the Strait of Hormuz, each time they experience fear and a man who is afraid of something, cannot be a threat to Iran.

The group of American ships that are on military duty along the coast of Iran currently have around 430 Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of 1,600 km.

The information service of the U.S. Navy reported that currently in the Persian Gulf there is a carrier strike group led by the Enterprise aircraft carrier. According to reports, battle outposts' of ships and a nuclear submarine attached to a convoy may have at least 130 cruise missiles.

Another carrier strike group, led by the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, located in the neighbourhood in the northern Arabian Sea has the same number of Tomahawks.

In addition, in the same region, the Georgian strike nuclear submarine runs in the same region with 154 cruise missiles and a nuclear submarine, part of the amphibious assault ship group which has on board 12 Tomahawks.

According to experts, these missiles are sufficient to disable in the case of a military strike on all the major Iranian air defence facilities and military airfields.
