MUMBAI: Global automobile companies are increasingly engaging Indian design firms to ensure that local customers embrace their new products.

German automaker Volkswagen is in talks with Hinduja Group's Defiance Technologies for its sub-4m Vento, according to people familiar with the company's plans. Defiance is also working on Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor's entry-level car codenamed i2.

Similarly, Czech carmaker Skoda Auto has entrusted Mahindra Engineering Services ( MES) ..
