Well, my definition of appliance is meant to be reliable. It is 90s car after all. It is bullet-proof reliable. People who want reliable appliance is safer with Toyota Corolla. I am more of the driving dynamic guy; always have been and always will be. So, naturally i explore to the new territory which comes with invited calculated risk as the result. Not many people like driving so Toyota should be fine for them.

Yes, most cars are built to the cost but that is the part of the budget. Beyond budget, shell out more bucks for better trim levels. That is the way it works. I am normally more into driving dynamic so i don't care about interior design - yet at the same time i prefer classical exterior design with the engaging and peppier fun to drive. Again, that is just me.



That depends on the powertrain. Is TSI engine suitable for hot climate regions? Diesel is almost becoming extinct after the diesel fiasco so that leaves it to TSI which is petrol Turbo engine.

T6 and Amarok made sense because of the possibility of diesel. Although, VW has various small diesel Turbo for commercial cars which i am not familiar with Diesel. I am guessing VW is planning to bring electric motor so maybe Pakistan might get cutting edge Electric Turbo motor along with the rest of the world thus less fiasco after Diesel fiasco.

You are living in Pak right? what decent cars can you guys get over there for a decent price? Over here we can get a lot of decent cars, especially in the used car sector we can get v8 commodore sedans, turbo ford falcons for quite a cheap price.

I cannot speak for Pakistan since i don't live in Pakistan. Based on my last trip to Pakistan, Corolla/Civic are safe bet for the reasonable price.

From the currency calculation, that doesn't make any sense. If anything, it sounds like extortion. I really had no idea about it. I see Corolla all the times so i assume the lifestyle and pricing have improved. But that might not be the case. It makes sense to buy locally assembled Suzuki cars due to tax break.

that is pakistani custom department for you. these morons apply tax based on cc unlike rest of the world which use carbon emission.any thing above 1300cc is going to cost you a fortune here thats why you will see the sudden spike in the 660cc Japanese imports in recent years but even these cars will set you back around 1.2 million.heck the local made suzuki mehran aka tin box cost around 0.8 million these days.

Oh I see, that seems to be the standard in most western countries for cars like that to, to be honest with you I think where possible used cars are better, you can get something of better quality for cheaper, albeit a bit older.

I think they need to change the regulation body control. It makes sense to give tax breaks on locally assembled cars but not foreign assembled cars. That is the way with the rest of the world. Surely, people should be getting benefits of deals on the locally assembled Suzuki vehicles in Pakistan. Formulating based on engine specs makes no sense overall, and if anything, it deters major automakers who plan to assemble vehicles with engines that is often standard with either 1.2/1.4-litre Turbo or 1.8/2.0-naturally aspirated engine.

So i take it that only Mehran is locally assembled car from Suzuki in Pakistan. If not this government, then i hope the future government changes the Automotive policy to make easier on the foreign Automakers and the consumers. Normally, it is best to focus on the local investment to get local affordable price.

I wonder if there is one capable to build local-oriented cars for Pakistan. There needs to be Pakistan Automakers to build one capable vehicles for Pakistani consumers in the local affordable price. And the government should give them huge tax break as the sign of encouragement [good for economy as well] and flexible on engine specs to make it easier for the consumers.

Given the strong resale value of Japanese vehicles, it is tough to get good deals on the used cars. Only non-Japanese vehicles depreciates faster in term of the value for cars.
