Viva Satellite: India’s Space Play Makes Perfect Business Sense

Sooo U mean the satellite is going to be a gift from INDIA to all of SAARC countries including neighbors , including PAKISTAN ??? Thats new and never expected that kind of goodwill gesture from INDIA , and if this is all true , what benefits will the SAARC countries get out of this satellite ( A GIFT from INDIA ) .

Communication, may be. Faster broadband, support of DTH.

And maybe I think, ISRO jus give away/ allot some transponders to SAARC country, according to there requirement.

But Pakistan already has communication satellite PAKSAT-1R recently launched from china . Isnt there any other Application to this Satellite other then communication .

I dont think India going to launch image reco or remote sensing for Pak, because its military purpose is too high. BTW, I dont think one sat, that launched by China,going to complete its whole communication requirement for Pak. Thats just 30 transponders, even some smaller countries requirement is much higher than that.

Well then , I would like to Thank India for the Satellite and ask what does India want in return from PAKISTAN as a gift that which Pakistan can easily gift it back in return?

we need nothing... just give up ur hostile attitude towards us...and stop terrorism towards our nation...

this saarc satellite will be free and will be for all saarc countries.... but if pakistan want some particular satellite then they cab always place order to isro or they can built their own and we will launch it...

Well only NTRO knows why! Anyways RISAT 1 has a clear resolution of 1 m whereas that of RISAT 2 is 0.8 m - imaging in all weather conditions 24x7 - A facility which Google Earth can never provide!
