VinFast has in fact already received 10,000 preorders, a year prior to the launching of its final products and that's quite a record it's set.

The Vietnamese brand will produce the new Pininfarina-designed LUX A2.0 sedan and LUX SA2.0 SUV, both of which made their debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. After unveiling 20 concept designs submitted by world-famous design houses including Pininfarina, Vinfast asked customers to vote which they thought were in line with world trends and fitting with Vietnamese tastes and demand. Nearly 62,000 participants voted in the contest. The Sedan and SUV designs that collected the most votes were the two that Pininfarina will develop.

VinFast has in fact already received 10,000 preorders, a year prior to the launching of its final products and that's quite a record it's set. After the inauguration of the factory, VinFast will organize the delivery and release of the first cars. Specifically, delivery of VinFast Fadil cars to customers started on June 17, while Pininfarina-designed Lux A2.0 sedan and Lux SA2.0 SUV will be delivered at the end of July 2019.

. . .
I don’t see why they wouldn’t be.
As a developing country I anticipate Donald Trump will exempt Vietnam from car tariffs. He can collect money from rich countries as Germany, Japan, Korea and China :-)

Such pricy cars are perfect for US market

@KAL-EL

I don't know if they are planning to introduce this to the US Market. No news of this in the press/media stateside. But yes, styling-wise it'd be a draw which will attract customers.

The company has to tread the waters in the US Market carefully, by setting up a reliable dealership network because the market is saturated (even for luxury cars and in the two coastal markets, Calif. & Eastern Seaboard including NYC area).

Market in these bi-coastal areas are the toughest in the world for luxury vehicles where marques like MBZ, BMW, Infinity, Lexus, Audi, Range Rover are fighting it out for sales.

Latest luxury car entrant in the US three years ago was Hyundai's luxury marque Genesis which despite the Hyundai reliability badge of late - has found it difficult to sell in numbers. Genesis are well appointed cars sold at at least five thousand less than a comparable Audi/BMW even in low level models. If Genesis has such a hard time then it is understandable how tough the market will be for other brand new entrants like VinFast. So caution is warranted, but I say give it a shot.

The Lux SA2.0 SUV what I heard was based on the BMW X5 mechanicals/chassis but with new sheetmetal (designed by PININFARINA), one generation older than the current X5. That would be something worth selling here, but I don't know if BMW licensing would restrict it to be sold in the US.

There is no export restriction. Vinfast makes clear at the beginning she will export cars all over the world, or at least in countries people buy our cars.

They can buy the latest authentic BMW for less, why should they buy some decade old junk put together by some unskilled workers and an unknown company which has never build a car by their own before??

Let me ask you something different.

Why haven't Chinese brands started selling in the US?

The link you posted: BMW 5 series prices range from $53,000 to $110,000. Sorry but that is much more than Vinfast Lux series $60,000.

Your question exactly proved my point, US market is one of the hardest market to enter, even harder than the European market... Even the established Car brands like Peugeot, Suzuki, and Fiat, etc.. basically all failed...
Let alone a vietanmese car brand which has ZERO experience in making cars, and yet want to charge premium prices....lol...

Oh.. yeah, $53,000 is much more than $60,000....
