Very nice windows and glass doors!

Just leave the troll
He was referring to the grilled bars on windows

He is reacting similar to post 212 by the jpnese - his buddy, spoilng the thread but a lot worse many times

In fact in almost EVERY topics regarding China's progress, whether in science, infrastructure or in rescue missions like in Tianjin Blast just recently, he sours up most of the time. You can easily identify his traits to a large community group in PDF despite his denial

Mentality issue.
@Chinese Bamboo Let him play with himself, we all know where he comes from. He can play with his American Japanese friend though.

Are these subsidized by the government? :)
Dazhou friend told me that the wall was subsidized by gov.Gov will give them money.
My father used to live in mountain(hunan province),without subsidizing, the villagers would like to build house in European style...(imagine there is a European style house in a Chinese mountain!! I can remember it because I have been there,3 floors European style, that's terrible.)
The other people living in village(guangxi province) also had told me he live in 180m^2 house with 3 floors(but not traditional style),many villages have changed a lot.
*Then,sth I can tell u.
Sichuan is a poor province,Dazhou very poor too(per GDP cant reach the half of Chinese). These houses are great for poor people. The best thing is that the villagers dont build houses in European style.

@Syed.Ali.Haider as someone who has probably seen both rich and poor...look at this pic (and some others from the first few pages) and tell me what is wrong with the windows and why this is NOT pointing to a "rich" society.

GDP per capita less than $4000, one fourth of villages in Wuhan.

Its good to see that they're at least streamlining development to the rural areas of the country. And the fact that government does not subsidize housing means that the villagers in rural China must have a considerable amount of capital to finance such construction / plans. Puts a new appraisal on the wealth engine by rural Chinese folks. As for folks wanting to get a european style house -- that's great, i guess its a form of bringing in foreign style to the local setting. For me, i personally don't like the modern western style housing look. I own my own house here in New Jersey -- and i wish that i could have developed my own house and build it traditional Japanese style. Tho i don't think it would have gone well with the building code in my town.

For me, i would have preferred if i could have built my house in traditional Japanese building plan like this,

Ironically they are what is seen in poor sections of the U.S.

Well, to be honest, the poor sections in the US have lots of gang activity and crime. Window bars is a necessity, i suppose. I can understand why Japanese-style homes would be unpractical in the United States because anyone could just break through.

I think in more AFFLUENT communities in the US, like say in Moorestown, NJ ( a town that is probably one of the wealthiest in the nation) , I can see that it MIGHT be possible to build a Japanese-style home. But it would have to be augmented with security system.

Something like this, i really really really prefer. Its so much more 'airier' or 'spacier' than even the "LARGE" homes here.

Correct! Bars on windows are seen in high crime areas (usually poor). It's shocking that the very first pics in this thread had them (with the heading "Chinese villagers are becoming richer and richer"). All I'm pointing out is that I'm sure better pics could have been found. What's worse is even when I pointed this out people could not see the issue.

If you want to post pics of beautiful homes I'd recommend skipping the ones with burglar bars. They immediately raise eyebrows (and not in a good way).

We have it too.
Don't make assumptions judging from your experiences in US of A and your own country.
China is not US of A, people don't shoot and people walk outside deep at night.
