VIEW: Success lies in secularism —Dr Irfan Zafar

You may be right in your opinion but, your answer seems flawed and wrong to me personally ... I do not follow ISLAM, so what ever is said in quran will never appeal to me or others like me.. And forcing people to follow things which they dont believe in will always lead to chaos...Secularism is the ONLY way forward..

That is why we don't need secularism in Pakistan hope you understand now :)

Secularism is the ONLY way forward..

Secularism is the failed system But System of Islam is from the creator of this universe and it is the best system for humanity and it will be implemented soon

Secularism is not possible in Pakistan. Only Islam binds the people of Pakistan. If there is no Islam in Pakistan, then ethnic nationalism will grow and that will break up Pakistan into Independnet Pashtunistan, Independent Balochistan, Independent Sindudesh. In other words, bharati dreams come true.

It is just as possible, if not moreso for Pakistan to be split up on the basis of religion/sects.

Usually the people who support a worldwide caliphate and take pride in the unity of the ummat are the same ones who badmouth all the other sects of Islam and call them kafirs/murtids/munafiqs.

If 100% of the Pakistani population doesn't want secularism, then hell yeah there should not be secularism there... But what about the minorities there?? I f they do not object to it, no need of secularism... And of-course you need need listen to any of it, what people outside Pakistan have to say.... Its YOUR choice...
I was actually replying to Janubaba who wants ISLAM to be governing way and a lifestyle on every square inch of the world...

Islam can exist and thrive in a secular state. It's in an Islamic state that the chances of corruption by Mullahs' (who claim to be protectors of Islam) can occur. If a system has to be implemented as per divine plans, it will happen irrespective of the current system followed.
Janubaba, I admire your persistence and fervour towards your religion, but you are regarding systems hostile without reason or rationale.

Not in Pakistan. You see 97% of Pakistan's population is Muslim. 80% of that Muslim population in Pakistan are Sunni Muslims.

Ethnic nationalism is far more dangerous than being Muslim and only Muslim. Remember Bengali ethnic nationalists who broke the country. Dont give people reasons to turn to the Pashtun nationalists, Baloch nationalists, and Sindhi nationalists. Have more and more people turn to Islam. That is how to unite the vast majority of Pakistanis.

It is in Pakistan's best interest to be more and more Islamic because the only thing that we Pakistanis have in common with each other is Islam.

Sir Islam is not limited to prayers sir Islam includes economic political and social system so it can't thrive under the system of Kufr

Most of the pakistanis need Islamic system and btw the current democratic system is good if we let it run. one thing we need to eliminate is interest based economy and inshaAllah we'll achieve that soon...

Rubbish

Pakistan is the second largest Shiah Muslim country in the world, though Sunni are a majority -- I can't think of anything more dangerous than a religious government -- we already see discrimination against Ahmadi Muslims, against Christians, against Sikh, against Hindus, Against various sects amongst various schools of law -- a Islamic "Leviathan" (read Hobbes) - a nightmare polity full murder and hate (ok wait we got that already - Ok, worse)

Shias make less than 20% of Pakistan's Muslim population. The reason why we have the second largest Shia population is because we are a nation of 185 million people, more than twice as much as a Shia majority country like Iran's total population. The majority of Pakistanis are Sunni Muslims.

Ahmadiyyas, Sikhs, Christians, Hindus all combined make less than 5% of Pakistan's total population and they dont make the majority in any particular region in Pakistan. If they become fed up with Pakistan will they make an independent homeland? No. Only our ethnic nationalists can break Pakistan and make their independent homeland. So its important for Pakistan to take our people away from ethnic nationalism, and make them feel the importance of Muslim brotherhood.

Secularism has failed in India too. its not about Pakistan or Islam. this concept of "Secularism" is flawed in itself which discriminates against only Muslims.

Period

Kindly explain how secularism has failed in India & how it supposedly discriminated against "only Muslims".
