The Chinese steel is relatively cheap compared to the western steel, but not cheap for Vietnam.

Yet Vietnam has to import from China because they can only forge some crude steel, not the high quality one.



China is already transferring its production overcapacity into the military.

Otherwise, China cannot accomplish the goal to build 6+ supercarrier battlegroups with 50+ modern destroyers and 50+ nuclear subs.

my friend, importing steel from China is just a temporary meassure. begininng next year, when the two giant steel makers Formosa Steel and China Steel begin operation (many thanks to your chinese brothers over the taiwan strait), we not only produce enough for the domestic market but can export surplus to elsewhere. the two will produce combined 28 million metric tons, high quality steel, can be used by the automobile, manufacturing and machinery sectors!

it is a long game my friend. Let see if you can lower the steel price lower, with ever increasing wages in China.
