Who need to show some gratitude when Trump has to send materials to make PPE to VN for manufacturing PPE for US doctors ( cos most of US factories were shut down that time) to save millions US lives like u in Covid ,mate ??

Had it not been the US dropping sanctions on Vietnam in the 90s and normalizing relationships, your economy would be completely dominated by China (not to mention considerably smaller). Vietnam manufacturing stuff for the US isn't a one way deal ... its not like Vietnam is shipping PPE to the US for free, your manufacturers also profit from it.

US is "bad guy" in Confucius, u do everything for ur own benefit, not bcs u "love" VN.

If VN side wt CN after Soviet collapse, then US would face with another loss in SCS ( east VN sea) VN-CN account abt 75-80 % the control of SCS ( east VN sea).

When both VN-CN agree to block all JP-SK-US merchant ships there. Then the economy of JP-SK will collapse, and US soon will lose all power in Asia. Got it mate ??

A very interesting perspective ... considering US trade with Vietnam far exceeds Vietnamese trade with those 3 countries combined. But I guess giving trading does not buy gratitude ...

Its just like CN call someone as "ally" but for her own interests/benefit only, not for making better life for her "Friends/ally", when trade war happen,their factories quickly move to VN not to their "ally".

For VN, we always want a better lives for our Friends India-Russia-Cuba.Someone keep talking bad abt India here, but I always ignore their comments.

I see no scope for mischief-makers to drive a wedge between India and Vietnam. Vietnam's prosperity is something for all of us to be glad about, as it is just reward for having held out against a superpower for decades, and at enormous cost in every way. Even leaving this aside, why should poor people becoming modestly comfortable in life bring unhappiness to anyone, other than the totally self-centred? A prosperous Vietnam is good for Vietnam and the Vietnamese, good for south-east Asia, good for Asia, good for the world; if we stop to think about it, even good for China and those Chinese who bother to spend time on these things.

I see no scope for mischief-makers to drive a wedge between India and Vietnam. Vietnam's prosperity is something for all of us to be glad about, as it is just reward for having held out against a superpower for decades, and at enormous cost in every way. Even leaving this aside, why should poor people becoming modestly comfortable in life bring unhappiness to anyone, other than the totally self-centred? A prosperous Vietnam is good for Vietnam and the Vietnamese, good for south-east Asia, good for Asia, good for the world; if we stop to think about it, even good for China and those Chinese who bother to spend time on these things.

Of course Vietnam will always have good relationship with Russia and Cuba because of the Communist past. But India? This one is very surprising. But I guess Vietnamese are still not happy that the US killed 1 million of their soldiers ... that is understandable. Battle wounds take time to heal.

India supported Vietnam right through; not having the military muscle to do what Russia and Cuba did doesn't mean there wasn't popular support, as much, even more, than government support.

India supported VN against US in war, supported VN against Pop Pot in 1979. We always have a good relationship for quite long time .

US chose VN as partner now mainly bcs u dont want an alliance between VN and CN thats surely will make US facing another loss after 1975.
