Vietnam's apparel sector fears cost surge as tech giants move in

True

Insignificant

Lots room for improvement

I think at least half of Chinese imports into the US can be replaced by made-in-Vietnam goods.
Half of Chinese imports...lol...Do not be like a moron here, do the math...You have to double your manufacturing capability even if you want to take 1% of our manufacturing capability...
Find your position, you are such an idiot...

This stat proves nothing.

We are on track to have one million businesses. Next step two million businesses to catch-up with Germany.

China manufacturing for low end to middle end products has no future.

I wonder how half of chinese workers will find their jobs in five or ten years?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
One million businesses.... No, you have 95.54 million, and you are catching-up the universe... Just count how many businesses here, and they are all of the highest end:

1 million enterprises is the official goal of the government. In the short term.

Not funny my friend, serious business. Vietnamese seeking jobs in China is nothing special. You will find Vietnamese everywhere now in the world. Look Germany: thousands of thousands Viet businesses do all sorts of stuffs here.

Yeah, I am still laughing...Sooo funny...

2 million enterprises won't make you Germany, you are still a jungle....Just check how many enterprises here in China:

Ok keep laughing

We will see.

We recently signs free trade with the EU. 99 percent of VN goods can be exported duty free with privileged access.

Okay, European just found another way to import Chinese products, free of duty. Because you can see entire Vietnam can only manufacturing 34 billion of something worth manufacturing products

ok how the Europeans found duty free chinese goods? I am curious to know how could they? There is no agreement between the EU and China!

Such stat is meaningless.

Vietnam makes domestic cars.

Which country in your list has domestic car industry?

Come on, do not be like a bumpkin here, rebadging a car or assembling some decade old kits is not rocket science...hundreds of countries did it once upon history, or are still doing it...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_automobile_manufacturers_by_country

Today's auto manufacturing are dominated by these companies:

If you are going to climb up the ladder, you have to make on this list, otherwise, you will die like your vinfast shit most probably will end up with...
Of course EV is another story, which will be dominated by Chinese and you got none...

It is very unfortunate for the relationship between Vietnam and China. If China does not illegally occupy islands in the Paracel and Spratly Islands of Vietnam, the relationship is better and the Vietnamese economy and Chinese economy can develop mutual support and promote each other very much.
In fact, today the Vietnamese economy has developed in the direction of direct competition with the Chinese economy, although there are still many things that are not as good as expected, but China could not use the economy to put pressure on the other faces of Vietnam. Certainly China will one day feel the heat from the Vietnamese economy.

Regarding Indonesia's own automotive industry, they have the automotive brand Esemka.

One very important factor in making a choice in buying a car is its resale value. And how high the resale value depends on (1) after sales services and parts availability, (2) reliability and durability of main components like engine, gear box, electrical components, suspension etc, and (3) established branding.

Using rebranding of older generation BMW cars make point (2) above stands out, but lacking points (1) and (3) above Esemka sales is a challenging one, especially where there is a total lack of nationalist sentiment for the brand. Remember this is a up market model where brand name is important. Making a choice between a Gucci and a XYZ brand is an easy one when you have the money and the need to show your social status.

Following this logic, only Germany and Japan shall have car industry. The rest is rubbish! They should never try.
