Vietnamese IC chip manufacturers sign contracts with Japan

The cooperation between Vietnamese chip designer and Japanese CM Engineering is worth more than just a commercial contract. This is Japan’s recognition of Vietnamese hi-tech achievements.

Japanese firms are well known as being very choosy in selecting partners. They spent two years learning the center’s capability in meeting the requirements in infrastructure items, chip’s quality and the labor force before making final decisions.

The chips to be made by ICDREC can be used for Intel or Samsung

Vietnam's FPT to deploy cloud-related services in Japan

An FPT software development center in Hanoi.

TOKYO -- A Vietnamese software giant will launch a service here next month for companies seeking to adopt cloud computing at lower cost.

FPT Software's Japanese unit will link data from clients' proprietary systems to cloud services for such tasks as customer management, payroll calculations and file storage.

As a cost-saving measure, many Japanese businesses are drawn to public cloud services from providers like Amazon.com, Salesforce.com and Google. But if these services and a firm's proprietary system are not fully integrated, employees may end up having to enter user names and passwords for each separate task or input data multiple times.

Integrating in-house systems and public clouds calls for customization, raising costs. FPT says it is cost-competitive in this area.

FPT employs 2,500 engineers in Vietnam with proficiency in Japanese -- a roster it plans to double to 5,000 in 2017. Along with benefiting from labor costs 60-80% below Japan's, it has built dedicated tools to improve efficiency in such tasks as transferring software from a company's in-house system to the cloud and verifying operations. Such advantages will let FPT reduce development man-hours by up to 80%, according to the firm.

FPT initially forayed into Japan back in 2005. It has handled software development for Japanese information technology companies as a subcontractor and has also won orders from consumer electronics firms to develop software for in-house systems and smartphones as well as embedded software for electronics devices.

By offering the cloud support service to corporate clients, FPT hopes to cultivate a new pillar of earnings and increase direct transactions with Japanese companies. Its business in Japan totaled roughly $52.5 million in 2013. By cultivating new fields, it aims to lift this by 33% on the year to around $70 million in 2014.

You need to take a chill pill because I can get you a heart attack very soon. Lol @ "all made in china". I guess the garbage is also "made in china" according to your logic. Try harder next time, Mr. Rcrmj. You are sooooo brilliant.:omghaha:

Hehe, idiot, you even can bought a honor 6 plus soon after it entering into market, with about 600 bucks, you should buy one BBBBBBBBphone to support your Vietnamese company, that's the point for your "high-end" made in Vietnam,:-)

From the article, you will find, the biggest selling point is made in Vietnam, hehe, as to others, no any advantage, soft? Hardware? and Made in Vietnam is a advantage for high-end? the price of 400~900 dollars make me drunk, they have strong substantial support to the price? kidding me, just to flatter Vietnamese.

If they don't change their strategy, they doom to die, that's my word. not everyone can play high-end, even Toyota high-end can't march ABB, altough Toyota sell more car, and its history not too shorter than them.

Maybe these Vietnamese run the company is patriot, but not pragmatic, or maybe just cheater.

Feel my vibez? :bunny:

bad boy, really bad boy, I will ground you for a week :police:

Just read the article on CNET, I wonder why there are many Vietnamese comments every where on comments sections. Anything comes out little bit positive about Vietnam I see many Vietnamese flooding comments, feel like monkies jumping up and down which scares away people who aint Vietanemse wants to comment. Can someone go to CNET tell the Monkies over there be quiet so I can read others feedback.

Honestly, I have a lot respect for Japanese people quiet, well behavior (not loudsy) in what they do. Not only tech but music as well, the Vietnamese flooding senseless comments in every freaking music video.

Why do these horrible chinese freaks interfere in each and every thread that focuses on positive news from a country other than their own (and a tiny handful of others)? What sort of disgusting upbringing have these little people had? Their comments make me sick in the stomach each time I see them.

More power to Vietnam!
