Vietnam wary of plea to expand Chinese currency transactions

back to reality, since mass producing in China reduces the price of goods directly, you would keep buying Chinese goods in your generation and next generation and next.

like this.

Believe it or not, CNY in VN is already a kind of hard currency like in NK&Mongolia. VND is too unstable for stocking. Since your people have accepted CNY, your govt. have no reason to reject it. National conflict may impact national relationships, but VN seems not so independent on Chinese economy, so you'd better accept it, though VND even doesn't seem to be so useful as Ruble, which you don't think highly of.

yeah you truly don't trust Chinese politically, but it seems your people like our currency much more than your domestic currency...10000 VND is equal to about 3 YUAN today, but maybe in next year the same amount of VND will only be equal to 2 YUAN, who knows...to stock some USD or CNY is a much bettet choice for you, a sincere suggestion:cheesy::yahoo:

VN style, making up the stories, trusting in it by themselves.

This story made by chinese. Pls to read the thread. I quote here for you:

The proposal was made by the China Business Association in Vietnam and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, .....

..... Economist Nguyen Minh Phong of the Hanoi Institute for Socio-Economic Development Studies, told Thanh Nien the proposal was “understandable,” given China’s desire to internationalize the CNY--as evidenced in its currency swaps with countries like Australia, Brazil, and Russia.
He found the proposal “unacceptable,” however, because allowing further renminbi transactions in Vietnam would deal a further blow to the economy.
Firstly, according to Phong, since CNY is not yet freely convertible on the international market, expanding its use would require Vietnamese businesses to take on risk.....

bro, I think the "expert" Nguyen has no idea how an economy and currency markets function.
I give you an example: Forget China and Yuan. Put it out of your head for a while.

You are a merchant having stores importing goods from Cambodia to Vietnam. your shops have vietnamese, and sometimes cambodian customers (tourists).

What happens when you go to Cambodia, buy local goods and import to Vietnam? you pay in riel (cambodian currency). and when selling these goods to vietnamese customers? you accept dong (vietnam currency), or riel, because you can use riel to buy cambodian goods. so, you usually have two money accounts at your bank: one in dong, one in riel. Money transactions would get easier if your cambodian counterparts accept dong. because you don´t need to convert to riel if you lack of it.

Are dong and riel international convertible currencies? obvioulsy not. Does accepting riel pose a risk to our vietnamese economy? obvioulsy not, either. Does accepting dong pose a risk to cambodian economy? you give me the answer!

Riel and VND will not lose half of its value in the near future like CNY coz China will be the next target for US after US beat Russia in Oil war.

Seems you've forgotten all Vietnamese's panic during the 1997 Asian Economic Crisis......It was US who robbed of all your property, not China...Don't forget at that time US was not in such heavy debt like present. US(or more accurately, the Wall Street) is a robber, and now it gets more avid for money, so who will get attacked first? The second-biggest economy, China, with strict financial rules and used to succeed in defending economic attack, or Vietnam, a mid-scale economy without effective anti-attack methods? If I'm in charge of Goldman Sachs, I won't be so silly to attack China first, at least I'd like to attack Vietnam first. Maybe China will get attacked, but I think at that time Vietnam will have already been robbed of all you property and turned into a beggar country.
The world is still under the shadow of the Wall Street, and those mid-economies like Vietnam are still their targets. Seems the whole SEA is booming now but they're just like fat sheeps, those bigs in Wall Street are hungry for their meat. Just store some CNY as those Vietnamese living near China do...or if you're rich enough, gold will be a good choice. Oh damn it why should I teach you these, I'd like to see you become beggars, so just forget my words and keep daydreaming about that China is going to collapse and Vietnam will benefit from it.....:pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop:
