Vietnam Goes Shopping for U.S. Weapons

If China need over 1000 J20, Vietnam only need less than 100 Su35

I don't think it will come to that. Besides, the PLAAF cannot afford to mobilize most of their combat aircraft against Vietnam without reducing their projection ability in other air commands. Understand?

To do so would be a strategic blunder.

japan is the true archenemy of China. it seems CCP did forget that???

Very dumb move. japan will bomb chinese naval units when Vietnam and china go into war.

japan has extreme knowledge in maritime warfare. their navy is advanced. they secretly trained their youth as aircarrier crewman with hidden special sport lections.

Japan is still led by Samurais, who control the japanese royal family.

they are war beasts.

Russia will simply vaporize their navy with tactical nukes, if they come to close to our border.

yakuza is samurai. they control whole of japan.

in russia russian mafia is KGB.

That sounds very CRAZY, Mr BEAR ! a NUKE war !

.
a tactical nuke fired on the navy of a country without any nuclear weapons and not a reliable ally, is not exactly a nuke war. it is just lunch time.

russian bear will have some sushi.

haha

Hehehe, why resort to nuclear war? Conventional is not okay? :)

equipment what? even Indonesia still can build CN-235 at our facilities when US embargoed us back in 1995 through 2006, EADS can't be controlled easily

can American selling their Virginia class submarine to Vietnam? can American selling their state of the arts Arleigh Burke class to Vietnam? i want your objective answer

Would have been too expensive even if it was possible. Vietnam can buy more Kilo boats. Far cheaper.

.
US not so stupid. They will sell Vietnamese weapons from the 70s and 80s.

Only the stupid Viets think this is the beginning of their Mekong delta wet dream Part deux.

The US know how to make money by selling out of date weapons.

Will they force Vietnamese to buy those ? Being smart buyer to utilize the usage of tight budget

that's why I said "for their security China must have 1000 J20, while to do the same Vietnam would only need less than 100 advanced fighters.

Frankly China does not feel much threat when VN buy these weapons.
China has a much powerful military force and bigger economy size than VN.
Also we can make most of our weapons inside China.
So these bought weapon cannot make much trouble to China.

I'm sure that's the C295 AEW
Very constructive idea.
Btw, what do you feel if Vietnam has demand to buy some more weapons from other sources like Japan, Israel, Airbus?

Agree that Vietnam or China could have their own way to have the needed weapons.
No need, no right to complain about. Right? hans

I think after the cold war, China does not change much on international affairs
China`s behavior is solidly based on the national interests and is pretty predictable .
Your government know pretty well what China want and what China will do.

On the other side, VN is not so forecast-able..
Due to small size, unstable political situation and anti-VCP action, VN government and people is not predictable.
Just as we discussed, VN government do realize the importance of China, but so often use anti-China action to attract public attention from itself..

Chinese has habit that you China should change her face very quickly and suddenly. It is unforecasted.

We never complain about VN buying weapons, right?
Except these islands claimed by both countries, China never complain or try to influence on VN...

China`s current policy is to beat enemy in economy side, not on battlefield.
Make enemy not affordable to buy modern weapons is much more easier to destroy these weapons in battlefield.
Even China is maintaining a much smaller size of military force, mostly to defend China from US force..

Will they force Vietnamese to buy those ? Being smart buyer to utilize the usage of tight budget

Nervous? Do u know what is the military budget of vietnam?
The nervousness here is that Viet Nam WILL be just one step closer to the US and by extension, closer to other Asian US allies, such as Japan and South Korea, in the region.

nobody needs to get nervous infront of inferior export models of american weapons. just look the export abrams in iraqi army and how they got busted from simple barfooted jihadis.

hahaha
No worse than Chinese weapons such as jet fighters where the only method of attack is collision -- Hainan Incident.

Single Arleigh Burke warship leaving US military system is not difficult for China to sink..
Virginia class? China will be very happy if VN has Virginia class.
So we can record the sound characteristics of top secret Virginia class..
Most of US weapons works well inside US military system. But once leave it, these weapons will not be so good.

I take it you speak from extensive personal experience in the military.
