Don't know if uncle Ho was really like Mao or Deng, but he certainly understand them so well.
And after that we got helped from big China and super power USSR.

If PRC was not help us, so we would went to another way to gain our independence, may be just like India or Philippine.
But Chinese and Mao choose to help us, because it's necessary for themselves.

Do you know where's the battlefield?

Why we must accommodate and feed so many soldiers in North?
if Chinese soldiers really fight for us? There must be several Chinese KIA or MIA or POW like in Korean War.
But there's just a few KIA by US bombing, when US drop bombs in bridges, railways, ...and even civilian could be affected, so are some Chinese logistic units.

Sure, without Chinese aid, if Vietnam want the victory, they must find another supporter.
Chinese aid is quite important to maintain the operation in South Vietnam of NVA.
That's the truth.

But military personnel, there's less affect.

Vietnam strategy is clear. Vietnam has been trying to be more friendship to China as long as possible, but ready to let them know, we are not afraid of fighting if China "betrayed" our good will.
