Video shows Japanese jets intruding in China’s ADIZ
Here
Video and pictures have been released on the Chinese Defense Ministry’s website showing two Japanese jets intruding on China’s Air Defense Identification Zone above the East China Sea.
The ministry says two Japanese F-15 fighter planes followed a Chinese Tu-154 jet as it was flying in China’s offshore waters on Wednesday. The Japanese jets allegedly came as close as 30 meters to the Chinese plane, posing a major safety threat.
One of the Japanese F-15s was equipped with weapons and a backup oil tank. The Ministry of Defense also said that on the same day, two Japanese surveillance aircraft carried out an operation in China’s ADIZ.
China: Response to Japanese planes' intrusion in line with int'l conventions
China’s Air Force spokesman, Shen Jinke, says the Chinese military conducted identity verification and verbal warnings to the Japanese planes that intruded on its air defense identification zone on Wednesday.
He also said the Chinese military has always exercised restraint when responding to the dangerous activity of Japanese jets. He added that all counter-measures taken were defensive in nature and in line with international conventions.
The spokesman said China’s Air Force has efficiently managed and controled its ADIZ. And it will spare no efforts in carrying out air patrols in the air defense identification zone in the future in order to uphold the lawful rights and interests of China.
