Video of Pakistan army attacking Talibans.

.
This seems to be an operation where complexity and danger was ill judged.
Then again there is no way of pre assessing these operations precisely and situation changes on the go.
The loss of two soldiers could have been avoided though.

Five suspected terrorists were reportedly killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistan Army in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Swabi district on Tuesday.

"[The] five terrorists who were killed [...] were planning to target educational institutions and judicial complexes," Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The military's media wing said three of the terrorists had been identified, while the remaining two were "probably Afghans". At least one of the identified militants was a member of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, according to ISPR.

Two soldiers of the Army also lost their lives in the operation.

"Sacrifice of our shaheeds will not go [to] waste. Terrorist will be brought [to] their end and held accountable for their fasaad," Chief of Army Staff Qamar Jawed Bajwa said in response to the operation.

The two soldiers were among an Army party conducting an intelligence-based operation in Swabi district's Malikabad area, according to ISPR.

A day earlier, five soldiers of Pakistan Army had been slain in a "terrorist attack" on three Pakistani border posts along the Pak-Afghan border area in Mohmand Agency. Over 15 suspected militants were also reportedly killed during the attack.

The Army had launched Operation Raddul Fasaad last month following a spate of terror attacks in the country, which claimed more than a hundred lives and left hundreds others injured.

The operation seeks to eliminate the "residual/latent threat of terrorism", consolidating the gains made in other military operations, and further ensuring the security of Pakistan's borders.

Hundreds of suspected terrorists have reportedly either been killed or arrested in raids carried out by security personnel since the start of the operation.

The way SSG assault team put their lives at stake for compound clearing Ops. What is the point of creating POF corner shot if they want to do things old fashion way ?

LOL...............this was not a Hollywood movie

how did you come to conclusion that there was no commander or communications?
The drone video you saw, was not for fun, it was a live feed to battle field commander, who was in contact with the operators

Who ever (if) leaked this video, should face the conswquences

If I were the enemy watching this I would note the following:

1. PA troops have a tendency to inspect the kill.

2. They swarm in close bunches, presenting an accretion of targets in a limited area.

3. The movements are a far cry from a kinetic SF operation.

4. When hostile fire comes in, as far as I can see, the helis respond pretty much autonomously. There is no battlefield commander coordinating the attack and no established communication and protocol between heli and ground troops.

Sir, would you agree that we need devolution of authority to section/platoon leaders and more leadership shown by lower officers? Also, not lowering one's guard even after threat is neutralized?

.
Can you explain in detail what just happened in the video?

Yeah! I also got surprised due to it.
Video not edited professionally last part played first while first part later and there are lots of cuts also.

P.A with some informers raided the house and called SSG back up terrorist resisted and SSG got causality later they called COBRAS which fired on the house and later SSG cleared the compound.

.
All levels have the type of authority / autonomy they need.
One must appreciate that in war on terror, it is critical to be very cautious and careful in engagements to keep the innocent civilians safe. PA's war on terror can be termed as one of the best with regards to collateral damage.

Yes, I didn't have that point in mind, civilian casualties. But if this was a mission in a war against India let's say, I would expect the troops performing the operation to have a lot of latitude, battle commander on the ground requesting air support as needed, and not needing to be in constant comms with remote officers, who would get burdened very quickly if they had to micro-manage multiple operations in different sectors simultaneously.

.
one way would be to just isolate the compound and level the whole thing air power like Americans do in Afghanistan and Iraq.... but that leads to high civilian casualities.....

the reason why ssg was called in to clear was probably becaz risk of having a suicide bomber inside

.
Hahhahahha.and the Indians will say these are Indian Commandoes doing operation in Afghanistan killing Pakistani Taliban with Pakistani weapons and gear.

What do you mean professionally, this video isn't going to be nominated for emmy's or shit, The video is in perfect order, you can clearly see the house intact in the first part of the video.

One more interesting:

@Signalian @django check the role of the M-113 in Swat operation:

- leading vehicle of the convoy, the only "heavy" armed vehicle with 12.7mm fire cover on the long range
- convoy protection vehicle
- Soldiers could fire different firearms(G-3, Ak-47, MG-3) from inside adational to the 12.7mm AA Gun, from a relative "save" and mobile vehicle, compared to the Hino Trucks and the Pickups!
- Its not an easy task to bring precise and effective fire on the enemy with 12.7mm, because the operator must dug out

A bigger fire package than from the Pickups:

Notice the 2 x Mg-3, one 12.7mm, and the usual rifle arms operators!
