Video: Iran.. long history of attacking embassies

.
Yet they wonder why they have been isolated and sanctioned for so long.

With such behavior you cannot be surprised with their general troublemaking in the region.

Which will be the next embassy? Do North Korea have an embassy in Iran? Maybe they are next.

A few emotional Iranian citizen attacked the Saudi embassy in Tehran and have been rightfully detained. It was not a state-sponsored attack and Iran should not be blamed.

Maybe they'll rebuild the Saudi embassy and then burn it again

Maybe, who knows?

I think that most Arab countries should cut relations with Iran until they learn how to behave. Their troublemaking has been going on for too long. It's time for them to grow up.

This will hit them hard as they trade a lot with us. Imagine if all GCC countries banned their Shia citizens (the richest tourists in Iran) from going there? It would send a strong message.

It's time for both parties to grow up.

You are naive. It's the responsibility of the host nation to protect ALL embassies and consulates. Also in Iran no such mass of people can assemble around embassies and consulates without the blessing of the regime. Iran has a long history of burning/destroying foreign embassies. The police did nothing and those few they arrested will probably be free very soon if they are not already.

I am quite sure that if they had burned the Indian embassy down and attacked a consulate in another city you would speak differently.

. . .
The Saudi embassy was destroyed, and the Iranian govt. did nothing. Why?

. .
Because they want them to destroy it.
Exactly.

It is the state's responsibility to protect foreign diplomatic missions. In this case Iran did not even attempt to protect the diplomatic mission. They could have cut off ties, ask the ambassador and staff to leave, but this ..............?

There were riot police protecting the building, but few people were still able to get past them. The consulate was not "destroyed". There was a small fire and maybe a broken glass or to. Around 50 people were arrested and will be dealt with.

The riot police should have handled it better, but they probably underestimated the reaction of protestors. Remember, this happened in Mashhad, not Tehran the capital. The police were probably more focused on the actual embassy, and not the consulate.

It's a tragedy that our security forces mishandled the situation, but their inability to use effective crowd control should not mean that the government wanted this to be done on purpose.

There was always security forces protecting the embassy.that night there were more angry zealots than they could expect.as the result some of them could breach through the police and enter the embassy for couple of minutes.all of them were arrested and the firemen save the building from burning caused by those idiots.also Iranian government was the first to condemn the attack.even though I am more than happy that the relationship with Saudis is cut I feel ashamed about what happened by those zealots.

Attacking foreign embassies happens even in Europe but Saudi's real intention is to divert the attention from execution of the Shia leader and they failed.
