Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Asma Qadeer, while speaking in the National Assembly, said that following the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we should also sign deals with Jews.

Addressing the House, she discussed the Kaaba of Muslims and Jews stating that when Allah (SWT) asked the Muslims to pray to face towards Makkah from Baitul Muqaddas, he ended the conflict between Muslims and Jews.

“According to my limited knowledge, Allah in that order decided that Masjid Aqsa will be Qibla of Jews and Makkah of Muslims,” Asma Qadeer said, adding that on this point the differences between these two religions should be ended.

She further said that even Prophet (PBUH) and Hazrat Ali (RA) also stated that you should make your enemies your friends and the best precedent over the issue was set by Prophet (PBUH) himself when he worked alongside Jews in Medina.

Talking about Prophet Ibrahim (RA), Hadeed said that during every Namaz we send Durood on Hazrat Ibrahim (RA) and his children which includes Bani Israel because the clan was derived from the son of Hazrat Ishaq (RA), who was the son of Hazrat Ibrahim’s (RA).

“I just want to say that scholars should find a verse in the Quran to unite Muslims and other religions including Jews so that humankind can become peaceful and Muslims no longer have to face atrocities in Yemen, Syria and other parts of the world,” she said.

“Just like Prophet (PBUH) signed several treaties with Jews, our parliamentarians and lawmakers should also work on these lines so that Muslim being prosecuted across the world can have peace and stability,” she asserted.

We are warming up to Russia; why not Israel? Does Russia not oppress other states and/or support controversial elements? Russia is giving S-400 systems to India, and we are cool at official capacity.

This isn't a world of righteousness.

"So for their breaking of the covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They distort words from their [proper] usages and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were reminded. And you will still observe deceit among them, except a few of them. But pardon them and overlook [their misdeeds]. Indeed, Allah loves the doers of good." - (Surah Al-Ma'idah; verse 13)

We cannot fix their wickedness, but we need to think about what is good for Pakistan in the long-term.

Another point is that there is no pact between Israel and Pakistan of which we may fear violation. Recognition of Israel does not constitute making any kind of pact with it.

In Surah Al-Ma'idah, Allah Almighty have forbidden alliance with anybody who ridicule Islam in general:

"O you who have believed, take not those who have taken your religion in ridicule and amusement among the ones who were given the Scripture before you nor the disbelievers as allies. And fear Allah, if you should [truly] be believers." - (Surah Al-Ma'idah; verse 57)

Last time I checked, China fall in the latter category, and we hear stories about injustice in Xinjiang. However, state-to-state relations cannot be held hostage to internal affairs of the other state. Every state feature a mix of good and bad people and Pakistan is not an exception to this norm.

Pakistan would rank very high in the HYPOCRISY METER actually.

It is important to read and understand Holy Quran in full - to have a deeper perspective of Islamic teachings and to inform our decision-making in the light of modern developments. Divine guidance is no longer coming but we have a functioning brain.
