Vegetarians live longer, study says

.
These Vegans are worse than the Nazis, they'll have us living on rabbit salad next! :argh:

I didnlt know that Vegeterians are on a mission for world wide domination like Nazis with their radishes and spinaches. Anyways meat eaters should be thankful to the vegeterains for allowing them to enjoy their stake at a lower price. Imagine if all humans on earth began to eat meat. Imagine if 800 million Indians who find beef repulsive become vocarious beef eaters...the world wide beef prices will go through the roof, not to mention the destruction of forests inorder to rear more beef/meat.

.
Also, apparently, the oldest known soup (several thousand years old) was hippo soup. (From the TV program QI)

May be its a tribal tradition to kill the fiercest animal and eat it.

A Hippo in Africa was recently put down because it attacked a game ranger who lost his leg as a result of the attack (very lucky actually).

The carcass was presented to the Zulu king who then had it cut up and cooked as part of a feast during the Reed Festival, where young nubile Zulu virgins dance topless in grass reed skirts to attract suitors and for the benefit of their King.

Not really.
India has an excess of beef that is just polluting the environment.
If Indians started eating meat, they would have a ready supply and maybe even reduce some of the hunger they have.

. . .
The solution to India's animal protein deficit lies not in goats or cows. They are way too expensive, take up a huge portion of real estate, and are hugely dependent on fodder, not to mention huge contributors to the greewnhouse effect due to release of methane from their herbivorus guts.

The solution lies in bioengineered fowl, chicken, and fish. We have a huge coastline. As well as inland waterways. And its really easy growing chickens and packing them tightly in layers, with affordable feed.

After the white and green revolutions, the next one should be to make us meat sufficient.

^ Bioengineered chicken, broiler etc taste like horse ****...

I haven't heard of any instance in the world where the hunger problem is solved by eating meat. Actually if Indians as a whole start eating meat it will increase the hunger problem as its takes 3 to 4 kgs of food to produce one kg of red meat.

just wait for few years , lab made meat will be in super markets.

Actually factory made meat is available in super markets.

I am vegetarian and I don't want to live longer...who would want to get so old that they have to wear diapers???
I eat lots of unhealthy vegetarian food so that I don't live longer ;)

.
Not into chicken man. Its a step above paneer for me. Desi murgi, like desi people, have too little meat on their bones. Yes they may be tastier, but not for a hard core meat eater who needs to bite into a mouthful of flesh. Versus daintily picking the meat off the bone.

Anyone who knows anything about energy pyramid would disagree with this..world hunger problem can only be solved by totally avoiding meat production.
