Please stop creating such threads. The Ramayana and Mahabharata as epics are a part of the Indonesian culture due to the ancient cultural exchange that had happened. They are merely highlighting the same in their currency. As far as its valuation goes 1 Indian Rupee=173 Indonesian Rupiah so that logic/superstition/rumor does not stand as well.

If you had just wanted to share the "tidbit" you would have not added that muslims in Indonesian think that there currency is getting weak because they have a "hindu" symbol on it.Have they just added this symbol recently or something?
If you had gone along the lines that muslims and hindus share a common culture in the east or that india and Indonesian have something in common then i dont think you would be getting negative comments.

yeah, I don't really get the point.
Egypt is a Muslim country but they have pictures of the pyramids and pharaohs and what not on the money.
Just means they are acknowledging their past.
Heck, Pakistan has the picture of Taxila on our money, a Buddhists city.

I though Subramanium Swamy was a bit loony with some smart ideas, but now I think I will have to put him totally in the loony box. Vajpayee and Sonia Gandhi not giving him ministerial positions seems to have totally gone to his head. Earlier we had some crackpot guru saying the Rupee symbol has bad vaastu.

Well the Indonesia Rupiah has fallen from 8500 to 9600 in the last one year and that is more to do with global economic condition than anything else. Lets focus on the scientific reasons and rational thinking on this issue.
