Vacation Destination?

I haven't been on vacation in long time(Besides overseas). Recently I had chance to go Chicago. I drove on my own. I took sibling around for one day. First to Chicago mall then one of their Museums. While both were nice. I didn't find interest in spending at mall as almost everything was very expensive. Besides some clothes/watches. My biggest complaint was driving. Honestly this was worst experience driving through this city. It wasn't so busy but I'm not familiar with area and relied on google maps which gave me wrong directions have of time. Worst part is being able to find parking space. I could not for the life of me find parking spots besides valet parking.

This was getting on my nerves on made me want to leave next day. Which I did. Chicago is not good place for driving. If you have apartment at heart of city it is better to walk. And I don't have that. The weather isn't great either.

But it revived feeling in me that I want to have a vacation. Preferably on my own. I don't like having responsibility of others nor any annoyances. Some things I would like:

1. Warm weather
2. Nice historical sites which I can tour without waiting in 5 hour line
3. Good food
4. Nice tourism shops to get some keychains or other things
5. Maybe an affordable tour to view historical sites
6. Decent shopping malls

.................

I was first thinking of areas like Florida or California but they are party places. I do not want to party. I want to relax my head off after upcoming college semester. At same time I was considering possibly doing Umrah.

So what came to mind:

1. Turkey(Great meddietrean food, historical sites, natural sites, possible affordable?) @Sinan @T-123456
2. Italy(For historical sites, other than that I don't know)
3. Saudi Arabia(Religious sites)
4. Pakistan(Nice nature sites here, nice capital as well, gun range? ) @DESERT FIGHTER @Selous
5. Iran(nice capital, any nice sites to see there?) @haman10 @JEskandari
Hey why not Miami have you been there:D:D:DHey why not Ireland or Scottland I like there or why not south American countries

.
City scene. That has stores/restuarants. Nature sites, I remember some here posted photos in a thread of Pakistani mountains and other things like that. They look very interesting. Historical sites too, I'm sure you have Islamic sites there.

You reminded me about Morroco. My family wishes to see that place. I heard it has very nice coast. I've been to Palestine a lot and used to live there and will go again soon for long periods. That moron Syed Haider thinks I dislike it which is moronic. My whole life will be there, and my wedding.

Visit KSA.

Some of the best beaches in the world, almost 2000 tropical, volcanic etc. islands, amazing deserts, steppes, mountain ranges, semi-tropical areas, the most important Islamic heritage sites, some of the biggest malls in the world and shopping opportunities, very cheap, no safety issues, a big Palestinian diaspora, many ancient historical sites, modern and ancient cities etc. Great weather, plenty of sunshine, great food, thousands of restaurants with cuisines from the entire world (due to all the migrants in KSA), close to UAE if you want to see the most impressive skyscrapers and modern architecture or partying, beautiful Oman next by with hundreds upon hundreds of palaces, castles and some of the best beaches.

If you are really adventures there is Yemen next by too which is a unique country with stunning landscapes, architecture, food and hospitality. Also the Galapagos Islands of the East (Socotra islands). There will be no language barrier either and you will be close to Palestine so visiting family is also a option unlike if you went to for instance Mexico. Dirty cheap too.
KSA is close to other ME countries as well.

Anyway since you have visited the ME and are yet to visit Europe for instance then I think that you should visit Spain, Portugal, Sicily etc. which as plenty of Arab Islamic heritage sites and plenty of World UNESCO Heritage Sites. Roman too obviously and those from the Spanish Colonial Empire. It's similar to the ME in many ways though in terms of weather (during the summer), cuisine, landscapes etc.

France is the most beautiful country in Europe in my humble opinion. You have everything there and every landscape. Alps (highest mountains in Europe), amazing Mediterranean coastline, Atlantic Ocean, forests in abundance, rivers, historic sites, Paris, some of the most beautiful castles and palaces (in the hundreds upon hundreds if not thousands), Corsica (a unique island in Europe), great cuisine, relatively inexpensive compared to the UK, centrally located and lots of Arabs so you won't feel alone.

Try Provence. I visited extended family there this late August. You have the Alps in the background (1-2 hours drive) and skiing opportunities, islands of the coastline, beaches, beautiful architecture, nature (lavendel fields are something you need to see before you die, lol), Monaco, San Remo, Cannes, culture in abundance etc. international atmosphere, good weather etc.

Get a glimpse of Provence here;

Other options could be Malaysia, Indonesia or nearby (for you) Mexico.

I heard good things about Papua New Guinea although this is not for the normal traveller.

Of course "fantasy destinations" such as French Polynesia, Maldives etc.but they do not fit into your criteria. Leave that for the honeymoon. I have already booked either French Polynesia, Maldives or Comoros for that.

If you are adventurous Pakistan could also be a good choice. I want to visit at least. In fact I say go for it. Visit Pakistan.;)

India might be another interesting destination. Sri Lanka another in South Asia. I heard that it is very, very cheap compared to even poorer ME countries. So you could get a lot of value for your dollars.

South Africa is also a very good destination as @Selous wrote. Not been there but I have only heard good things about it aside from the crime and certain slums. The nature is stunning though.

Australia and New Zealand are also other options. The Philippines too have some of the best beaches out there and islands.

There are so many options out there. The whole world is beautiful. It's about what you make out of it.

What about traveling to California or Hawaii? I always desperately wanted to visit the latter.
