with all due respect, as per indian version of 'stopping them' it means repeating Orissa type violence against Christians. We also know what happened to Graham Staines, the Ozzie missionary and his family who were burned alive

we have enough issues, we dont need that kind of stuff in our country

as an ideological state, missionaries would have a tough time in Pakistan anyways....maybe a few here or there in Balochistan. Traditional Baloch culture tends to be a bit more secular in nature; those missionaries there are wasting their time totally.

that is not good for social fabric and it is seen as meddling in other country's personal affairs......if Muslim scholars were going to American or European Christian-dominated neighbourhoods and doing the same thing -- they would not be appreciated

Well you see the difference is that, most Western Countries are secular, but most Muslim Countries want to have an Islamic government.

You guys have done worse during clashes within Islamic sects; what are you talking of that missionary. Haven't we even seen that? Listen; you don't know what their terrorism is like in my part of the country. It doesn't come in mainstream media because they are sell-outs of this votebank government. But we have kin in the affected regions who tell us about things. We have even forwarded complaints and demanding safety of monasteries, but this anti-dhammic government doesn't give a jack! Heck! It doesn't even provide proper safety to mainstream Hindus going for Amarnath Yatra. How would it listen to us?

The problem here is very very nasty. So I would suggest not to try and muddle us as I can give similar examples that would silence most people on this threat on how that missionary was dealt. They do worse with us that what he got. Heard of BCN? they're no different from Taliban.

Now by stopping I meant a more legal manner. For example, you've got blasphemy laws that have got even Muslims arrested for false reasons and still your government doesn't scrap it; while missionaries are getting a free run.

Instead of blasphemy laws, why not impose severe restrictions on missionary activities through heavy penalties in monetary terms? These guys use loads of money to convert. If you impose heavy fines on them, your government gets rich and they don't sell their religion to your poor people.

No need for bullets and a win-win situation.

As for the missionaries claiming "truth", their job is to do that: first tell shyte about local traditions, talk sweet words, give funds to the poor and convert them. We got loads of experience here, mate. You're relatively new to them in Pakistan. Don't take their white robes seriously. You guys have enough trouble already in your country to invite a third more sinister one like these.

Well it hasn't been so hunky dory in our part of the world. These scum actively support terrorism against us in NE India, spread shyte about our Buddhist culture and faith and use fundamentalist preaching to forcefully convert poor unarmed villagers. First they try talking nonsense about the local culture and then pay "aid" to convert them. If that doesn't work, then they use terrorism to disfigure monasteries and temples via their fanatical converted stooges.

Religion is not something to be sold like a product.Trust me, we don't want them in our lands. This is especially true for us Buddhists, mainstream Hindus and Sikhs, as we don't go on a rampage converting everyone we see to our faith branches or schools of thought. So we expect the same.

Other than these damn conversions, we're open to your culture and thinking. Trust me, your corporate system, national management and defense policies are really respected here in India and would be gladly liked to be emulated some day soon. But we have our own ancient philosophies and path of life. We don't want organized religion to create problems here.

How come you guys don't stop them? I thought south Pakistan was religiously more conservative....

The way I found out was---we shared the same desk for awhile----one day he left a print out on the desk---I came and sat---and glanced over it---and then read it----it was a step by step conversion of a baluchi driver to christianity----that happened in quetta---the e-mail was generated sometime in november 2010----and according to the e-mail----they really wanted to spread the faith in afghanistan----but thier major target of influence is trukey-----.

Koreans have some special affinity for turks and turkey---the koreans claim that they have a similiar language as that of the turks----they are trying real hard to make inroads into turkey---.

Now----american christians----people who call themselves christian here in u s don't believe that the catholics are christians----.

If solomon or truthseeker or chogy may shed some light on this phenomenon---it will be interesting read.

Uzbekistan expels 8 US 'missionaries'

Uzbekistan has expelled eight American nationals from the Central Asian country on charges of making “unlawful” attempts to convert local Uzbeks to Christianity.


Under the guise of businessmen or English language teachers, the eight US nationals "carried out unlawful missionary activity to attract Uzbek students” to Christianity, AFP reported, citing a report on the state-run Uzbek website, gorizont.uz.

"Notably, the foreigners were fluent in Uzbek and called themselves with Uzbek names such as Jahongir, Husan, Jasur, Farhod," the report said.

The US Embassy in the Uzbek capital Tashkent declined to comment on the incident.

Uzbekistan previously deported another US citizen and seven South Koreans on similar charges.

All religious missionary work is banned in Uzbekistan, which is a predominantly Muslim nation with 90 percent of its 28 million citizens practicing the Islamic faith.

They will claim that they were merely giving 'Dawat'.
