The crash between the USS Fitzgerald and a Philippine cargo ship off the coast of Japanwas likely caused by the Navy crew members' failure to respond in time.

The crew on Fitzgerald 'did nothing until the last second', according to one official familiar with the investigation into the June 17 crash off the coast of Honshu, Japan, that claimed the lives of seven American sailors, CNN reported.

Preliminary findings in the inquiry indicate crew members on the Fitzgerald failed to acknowledge the ACX Crystal was approaching and did not the necessary action to avoid a collision, according to two Defense Department officials who spoke to CNN.

We are lucky the ship was not Chinese or the "free press" would certainly not be as honest about who was at fault or not... selfidentifying forum experts of anything would cite it as "obvious Chinese provocation" based on their unquestioned strong faith in "U.S. navy professionalism" years from now.

That is a stupid mistake. It clearly terrible procedure and a massive lapse of control/command within USN in this incident. It clearly exposed USN is not the well disciplined and professional armed forces as what US propaganda trying to portray to the world.

Just because Daily Mail said CNN claim some "unnamed" official said so, then it is the truth? Wasn't CNN was lambasted by you guys being "FAKE NEWS" just a few month ago?

1.) If a ship collided in high sea, both side would have the responsibility to avoid each other. If a crash happened, given if both side did not neglecting their duty, then both side are at fault, and in this case, there are no one in the pilot house of ACX Crystal at the moment of the crash, that indicated the Negligent part of ACX Crystal.

I did go over the legal aspect as per UN Convention to Avoid Collision on the other thread. I wonder how people would make any judgement when they do not know anything other than the facts provided to us on how this crash happen in the first place?

2.) As far as the "report" concern, there are no speculation on the official investigation, which mean this "Report" is either a hearsay or speculation on someone that cannot be confirm.

If I said, Quoting from an unnamed source within the Chinese Government that Xi Jing Ping is gay, does that mean Xi is indeed gay? Or even, did it actually warrant a response?

You can say anything on the internet, it's a free tool, just because someone said something does not mean that is the truth, that's just some opinion by "Some Guy", it changes nothing.

Not at all man. China navy has the world's BEST safety record. In 70 years of operations and expansion there has been only ONE accident in 2003 on a submarine. I think China navy is THE best navy out there.
