Use of force to solve Iran issue unacceptable: SCO

Iran's nuclear weapon is a threat only to Israel and US (or NATO), not a threat to India or other countries. But our stand is against a nuclear armed Iran.

A nuclear Iran is indeed a threat to Israel and SCO should have supported Israel's right to defend itself instead of giving a statement which rejects this fundamental right of every sovereign country.

Both Russia and China does not have the balls to defend Iran or anybody against us. What a bunch of evil minded communist scum.

March then Commander !

If Russia and China aren't able to do nothing  What else stops you ? :azn:

Israel is free to take it's own stand, and shouldn't pay any heed to SCO or any other community. Your security should your primary concern, not what any regional community says.

You are indeed right, Israel will do what is necessary for its national security. However, I expect leading nations in Asia and particularly world powers like China and Russia to refer to this issue in a responsible way instead of publishing a statement which actually support Iran's belligerent behaviour and violations of its own international communities.

Next time, both Russia and China should not be surprise for their irresponsible image in the international community.

Isreal already has nuclear bomb so Iran is in the defending position now. If both countries have it, wouldn't that prevent any preempted attack from either country? I personally don't feel Iran will be a threat to international security as long as the techique is not proliferated to some unstable countries. Any way, SCO's statement is not about allowing Iran to have nuclear bomb, no nuclear power want others to have it, period. This statement is just to make sure there's no un-provoked attack against Iran.

The SCO statement is about immunity for Iran from any punishment for its nuclear weapons development and violations of international obligations, including against UN Security Resolutions both Russia and China voted in favour!

Israel is no threat to Iran, so understanding Iran's nuclear weapons development by the "Israeli threat" is a mistake. The same logic can justify the Iran and any other country in the world should develop nuclear weapons because the UK has nuclear weapons. This is not how collective international security works and accepted by almost all countries in the world, including Iran.

This is just to say that US should not wage a war against Iran with an easy excuse. It doesn't say Iran will not be punished. I don't think neigher Russia and China wants a new nuclear power since it could back fire. But we all know even before the nuclear program development US already labeled Iran as axis of evil and was indeed talking about invasion to remove "dictator". That will hurt China's business interest and another war will truly bankrupt USA.

Wouldn't you agree that the same remains true for Iran also ? :azn:

Yes, war is indeed a bad news for China's businesses, but as a responsible world power China should occasionally take into account some broader considerations than short term financial gains. China already knows what the US and Israel say: that Iran tries to develop nuclear weapons in gross violation of its international commitments. A nuclear Iran is a threat to Middle East stability (more terrorism), and Nuclear Non-proliferation efforts (more nuclear countries in the Middle East and the final nail in the coffin of NPT).

Instead of pressurising Iran in all its power to stop its nuclear development, China prefers that US will be in the front and take all the fire while China will be able to gain twice: preserving its contacts with Iran and a bleeding US in another escalation in the Middle East.

This is exactly how China dealt with North Korea and the result is a nuclear North Korea which is a threat to its region.

This is not how you expect a responsible world power to behave (and that goes for Russia too).

oy zionazi, barking dogs don't bite. This is ancient wisdom and it holds true to this day.

32 years and counting, 1.5 nuclear reactors and counting, 2 major enrichment facilities and counting, many research facilities and counting...

Actually , for the rational people , war is always a bad news ... Do you feel enlightened ? :azn: What for starters , send their forces into a country thousands of km's away , spend trillions just to kill a terrorist , try to finish off some AQ and Taliban then end up derailing their economy ? Sorry , Beijing's no fool like Uncle Sam ...

Well , whatever US has done in its whole history can be hardly considered as responsible ...

If Israel can have nuclear weapons , then so can Tehran ... Simple !

Why your rogue regime continue to lie and deceit instead of telling the truth for a change: Iran is developing nuclear weapons and they are a threat against Israel.

You acknowledged it twice already, the murderous gang which is in power in Tehran should follow your example.

this is hardly a simple case, Iran gave several commitments not to develop nuclear weapons and it lied for two decades. It should be severely punished and deprive the opportunity to threaten international security.

China's and Russia's behaviour is appalling by encouraging a the rogue Iranian regime to violate international commitments including UN Security Council Resolutions Russia and China voted for.

Of course not, but in their actions their are allowing Iran to continue with its nuclear weapons aspirations and these intentions pose a threat to international security.
Does Israel have A-bomb?

Not relevant.

It is like asking in a thread on Iran's nuclear crisis if Botswana has nuclear weapons.

Of course it is relevant. Iran is threatened by Israeli nukes and that in my opinion a fair reason for them wanting nukes by Iran
