there was news and headlines coming on the T.V that India is negotiating with America to buy a defence missile shield system?
Can anyone elaborate on it? Furthermore i read in a column written by some pakistani journalist that missile technology of Pakistan much superior to India? is it correct and can i be given comparison?
what dis advantages will pakistan be facing/ wether it will provoke new weapon race in the region?
do comment and mail!:what::what:

To be honest i am not least bit worried about this defence shield. We already saw how successfull American defence shield was against Iraqi Scuds, there is no way it can hold its own against High Tech Ballistic Missiles that Pakistan possess. The small distance between India and Pakistan and with the speed that Pakistan missiles travel, it would be next to impossible to counter Pakistani missiles. I mean; Shaheen II travels at a speed of Mach 7+ with an altitude of 100-300 km, Ghauri II travels at a speed of Mach 10+. Now thats freakin fast, especially with such a short distance to travel i seriousally doubt it if this system can counter Pakistan's ballistic missiles. I think China would be more worried about this rather than Pakistan.

Tut! Tut! So much for this Indian dream down the sewer!

The Raw Story | Pentagon denies missile defense sales talks with India

Pentagon denies missile defense sales talks with India

The Pentagon has had longstanding contacts with India on missile defense issues but is not in talks to sell it missile defense systems, a defense spokesman said.

"The United States and India currently are not discussing the sale of any US missile defense systems to India," said Lieutenant Colonel Stewart Upton.

The Financial Times, citing US embassy officials in New Delhi, said the United States was in preliminary talks about sales of US missile shield systems to guard New Delhi against nuclear threats.

A US defense official described the interaction with the Indians as being on "a very rudimentary level."

"We have invited them to observe two tests this year to facilitate discussions of the two countries' ballistic missile defense test programs," the official said.

But the official said the invitation was extended with the understanding that it did not signal "US intention or willingness to sell the systems involved."

Anything of this nature being offered to India would be a game changer for Pak-US relations. While we let the nuclear deal go through, this will ruffle some serious feathers even if there is talk of it. In light of this, MIRV capability is a foregone conclusion for the Pakistani nuclear capability enhancements.

if this deal goes through, i guess we will be seein a lot more tests in the comin months. there are some rumors that zardari has not been givin permission for any new tests.

Defence shield against our Arsenal? We won't fire an ICBM from 4000 miles away. We're neighbours! And not only that, our missiles have a speed of their own. IMPOSSIBLE to counter them when the ETA to destruction is within a few minutes.

India should stop throwing away money on useless deals to pretend as if it's another state of the USA, and start focusing on the sanitation problem of their main cities with Garbage crawling ALL OVER The major streets. The Cities literally STINK!

Instead of MIRV, its to Pakistan's benefit to invest heavily in the development of near Mach capable, low signature/ stealth, ground hugging Cruise Missile capable of carrying heavier nuke payloads. Such missiles are difficult to detect through a defense shield, even more difficult to neutralize through Anti-missile systems such as the Patriot or Arrow and have the flexibility to be launched from land, sea or air. The development cost of such cruise missiles will be far less compared to a MIRV, hi-altitude, multi-stage ballistic missile which could be detected and neutralized through an ABM system. With the recent developments of RAAD and other Cruise Missiles I think that SPD is on the right path to have a credible delivery system and its only a matter of few years before the bulk of our missile program is converted into a Cruise Missile arsenal with variable launch potential.
