Greece and Cyprus had Russian S-300 Systems for decades now, yet you have no problem offering them the F-35. The S-400 purchase is just an convenient excuse, if you dont want to sell us F-35 thats fine but dont think get to have some form of moral highground when its foundations are rubbish. Lets not mention that the F-35 will be flying around our S-400 wether Turkey has them or not, so once again its all BS.

S-300 is an obsolete system. Can Greece get S-400 today? No.

But Turkey was able to buy S-400 by enacting this drama in partnership with the US.

I don't think the US lost any credibility. The US did not remove Turkey for no reason ... it repeatedly warned them if the S-400 system was purchased, then the F-35 cooperation could no longer continue. And I don't blame them. Would you want your most advanced fighter's intel to be transferred to Almaz Antey?

That would be fine excuse if S400 stationed in Syria hadn’t been covering israeli airspace since 2015... but it does and israeli F35 are flying near and I don’t hear concern for “tech stealing“

Interesting how Turkey has remained as a key piece in global politics for the last 70 years. With America’s missile defense system there during the Cold War and now with Russia making its move, I wonder how many more times it will flip in my lifetime.

US wanted to test the effectiveness of S-400 as China has them.

Turkey is sharing S-400 data with the US.

Turkey just confirmed the S-400 data with regards to F-16s. This is useful for to assess Chinese S-400 vs Taiwan's F-16s.

Taiwan is now upgrading their Airforce based on this data and findings.

The important part here is: one way or another, Turkey can track the essential data of the F35, simply because our 'enemies' buy it and fly within the radar range. In the end, this decision is purely political and all of our 'allies' always had the intention of limiting the Turkish strike capability and power. When Israeli F-35 operate over Syrian airspace, they do so with precautions and most likely subject regional defenses to jamming/spoofing attacks along the flight path.

S-400 system will produce a significant footprint in the sensors of F-35, and pilot will do something about it.

Having intimate access to both systems is a different matter altogether however.

One cannot glean sensitive information about F-35 from a distance just like that.

S-400 system cannot even notice one unless it is operating really close (<30 KM). It can be subjected to jamming/spoofing attacks on top.

You can't fathom half of it!! It is actually the US who is encouraging and funding India to procure the S-400 system, so that we can jointly study it for the obvious purpose. Russia would never hesitate to supply the system to India. Same request was put forwarded to Turkey as well, but was refuted, hence the cancellation of the F-35 deal. Once India receives the system and study begins, US will supply the F-35s meant for Turkey and combined Patriot+Thaad system as well to India.. Not to mention the F-21s and F-15EXes...
