Trump wants out, but that is not easy after 18 years. The Americans will continue to contemplate for at least another decade.

Actually....we are just going to buy a few bases there...that's why we went in there initially....
Besides the Taliban and most Afghans are just mercenaries to the highest bid....
Once we "leave" ....
Blackwater ....isis...and the Taliban will be used to promote our interests....money talks.

....Pakistan is relevant only as so long we have vested interest to keep the Afghan govt up and running.
Ps: China is already contained....ask it to land on taiwan ...a few miles of its coast ..

This idea of alliance between India and Afghan govt is just there as long as the Afghan govt believe it can take some billions off India, that is it. As soon as India cut down on aid the Afghan paper govt will turn its back in a second.
The whole thought of a natural alliance is fantasy, the two cultures are not compatible like India/Bangladesh, it is like chalk and cheese.

Totally false. US would have bought them already.
Fact is that the Taliban have stuck to their demands for two decades facing the full military might of US and it’s allies.
These men can’t be bought like Karzai Ghani Abdullah 2.
The vast majority of Afghanistan has come to the realization that US, India, and allies are a threat to their country and need to be expelled.
